We went to El Pueblo Restaurant because we promised my 4-year-old son that he would be able to eat a quesadilla at a Mexican Restaurant, one of his favorite experiences. The Mexican restaurant we had dinner at a bit earlier that evening did not have a kids menu, but did career to our vegetarian diet very well.
So we drove over to El Pueblo and ordered him a cheese quesadilla. While inside, I checked out their baked goods. Our earlier dinner was very light, so I also ordered a flan, a vanilla mantecadas (muffin), and an empanada with guava filling. We sat outside and enjoyed our goodies tremendously.
The desserts were all delicious! None was too sweet, and they tasted like homemade sweets. The crust of the empanada was flaky, but not too buttery, and the guava filling was flavorful from the ripened guava. The flan was also creamy and refreshing. My son loved his quesadilla, and ate every last crumb.
They are open for indoor dining, and the food is great. They even have an atmosphere with bands on weekend nights, although with the pandemic still not fully over, that may not have restarted yet. Being a family-owned and high quality establishment, El Pueblo Restaurant and Bakery needs our support so they may continue to service this community. Please drop by for lunch or dinner next time you feel like having a great Mexican...
Read moreChorizo Breakfast Burrito! Finally, someone is not afraid to put some chorizo in that burrito!! The accompanying homemade salsa could be a little more picoso, but the great flavors really shined through. Because I am diabetic I did take out the tortilla. My sugar stayed stable. But here is the best part....
MEXICAN COFFEE con canela!!! Cinnamon coffee at its finest. Not every Mexican food restaurant serves it, and it is disappointing not to have it. You might want to ask them for an Abuelita Chocolate Triangle to add to your coffee. I happen to have had one left over from my trip to Cabo. If enough of you ask.... who k ows... You won't be disappointed!! They make it fresh and it is delicioso!
Service was fast and friendly but not rushing me out. Parking might be a challenge. I am looking at coming on the weekend to try...
Read moreStopped by here during the NewHall Christmas Tree lighting parade while we waited for husband to park car. We only tried the hot chocolate and bought pan dulce and we left. We got 6 pieces of pan dulce, it was the most stale and very dry and no flavor bread. We got the little conchitas a pink and chocolate, a large chocolate one a turtle pan and a rebanada with pink. Every single piece was stale, we ate 3 right away and it was so dry. So we left since we figured the food would be the same. We usually drive to The San Fernando Panaderia because we have tried al the ones out here and I don’t know what ingredients they are using by their bread is very dry...
