One of the biggest challenges in moving to the area in Valencia coming from the west side of LA is the lack of choices of great quality restaurants in terms of food and service. I still used to drive to WLA / W Hollywood/ Santa Monica / BH area for my usual go to restaurants, specially more so when it comes to sushi! But, because I wanted to get to know the new neighborhood I am in, I have tried several sushi places, in vain. Then one day, while I was at the next door Pete’s coffee, I saw a sign ( in a banner saying new management, TOKYO sushi, Grand Opening!) And so I did come and try with my son and my daughter-in-law. My gosh! I’m so happy I did! The service is amazing and everyone is very friendly, including the husband and wife owners! Such a great find for us! It’s also a very quiet place where you can actually bring business partners for meetings and spacious enough if you wanted a private dinner party with no loud ridiculous music! It’s actually very relaxing to go to this place unlike the other places I’ve checked out in Santa Clarita.Their fish is always fresh! Love ordering my always fresh toro sushi / sashimi here, along with their Santa Barbara fresh uni! And if I feel like super hungry , I like ordering their Bento boxes. But if I want to watch my diet, I can go for their poke bowl. They have great sashimi as well and lots of awesome choices of rolls, but they can custom make anything for you as well. I can’t understand how this place is not as trending as all the other sushi places here in Santa Clarita that are so hyped up! This place serves great quality of fresh fish and the service is impeccable! And oh, they also have a loyalty points incentive that I just discovered also as well! Do yourself a favor… if you like good quality of food and awesome service with a nice, quiet unassuming ambiance, go and try Tokyo Sushi next to Peet’s Coffee by the Homegoods shopping complex on McBean Parkway!

Read moreWe ended up leaving this place without being seated. We made a reservation for 4 at 7 pm by calling the 'reservations' number on the website. The man who answered asked the time and number of guests and confirmed the reservation. Upon arriving we waited at the host stand until a man named Tim walked up saying there was a sign-up sheet, whereupon we told him we had a reservation. Tim replied there are no reservations and he couldn't accommodate us! When we showed him the 'reservations' button on his own website and the corresponding phone call record on our cell phone from 3 hours earlier, he refused to look at it and, as he walked away from us, asked the name of the person we talked to. When we said we didn't get a name (who asks for a name when making a restaurant reservation?), Tim insisted we needed to give him a name. The entire time he kept running around saying he was the only one there and talking to us in a scolding tone. We finally left in disgust for the way we were being treated.
DO NOT patronize this restaurant unless you're prepared to be mistreated and, if you do choose to dine there, DO NOT trust the reservation number on the website! Finally, DO NOT...
Read moreI have been here a few times and had decent experiences. However, for the second time I was treated so poorly by rude staff that I will never be back. The first time, I went for a late happy hour and the waitress insisted that I sit on the diagonal corner of the sushi bar. I don't care for this seat, nor was I in the mood to be sandwiched in between the only 2 parties in the place. There was absolutely no compromise in where she wanted to place me. Apparently, having me leave was the preferable option. More recently, my girlfriend and I visited and we asked to sit at a table. Once again, the staff - this time an extremely rude man and woman, who were too busy talking to even acknowledge we had entered - insisted we sit at the bar. Look, when customers come in they want to sit where they are comfortable. Simple as that. The place was empty when we arrived, yet they preferred that we leave instead of seating us at a table. A restaurant that continuously fails to grasp this elementary and timeless concept deserves to go out...
