Let me start with my saying that I love going to movie theaters. I went to my local showing of Wicked for the Amazon early premier at 6:30pm on November 18, 2024. 1 was sitting there with my fiance in seats F-19 and F-20 in the 4DX theater. There was a lady and a small child sitting next to us in F-17 and F-18. First thing I noticed is that she was not securing her popcorn properly even after the theater announced this. She was just balancing it on top of a sweater. She eventually fixed that. I could already tell that she was going to be a problem due to how loud she was talking to her daughter constantly. I noticed pretty early on that she had her phone on and the brightness all the way up. I was hopeful she would just turn that off at some point. Nope! The movie starts and she proceeds to begin ILLEGALLY recording the movie. My fiance told her to put her phone away. She did not do that. She kept pulling it out and scrolling social media. My fiance then told her again and then the woman in F-18 started berating us with insults and trying to use her daughter as an excuse. I asked her to stop but she kept berating us and still using her phone. We then got up and went to the front desk. I asked for our money back and then explained the situation to a manager/supervisor. The manager told us that we would have to leave for something to happen to the person. He said he would begin observing the person after we left. I am very hopeful that this person was kicked out. I really hope she sees this. I want her to know how horrible her movie theater etiquette is. Learn how to be a productive member of society instead of a child. Teaching your child to be self entitled will get her nowhere in her life. I also do not feel that the movie theater respected us or understood us well enough. Our tickets were 64 dollars. I will never forget walking back to my car while my fiance was crying. I will be spreading this story around. Regal! You need to do better for your customers! We did intend on leaving but we were told by a manager that we would need to leave or nothing would happen. How horrible to treat...
Read moreThis is my first online review of any establishment. My party attended a screening of Twisters 4DX - an experience that we could not suffer through 10 minutes of before exiting the theater. I have no quarrel with the good hard working people employed within this place. My problem is with theater 11 of this Regal Cinema. Perhaps, as this was my first rendezvous with the front row seating section of a Regal chain movie theater since my teenage years, I had simply been moving about the living unbenknownst of the issues moviegoers are facing in this day and age. The fact is - when we arrive to our seats in the front row - we understand immediately that we’ve been had. All of the movie theaters I regularly attend, mercifully, provide the front row with enough space between the viewer and the screen to be able to actually see the movie. Theater 11 does not. In a flippant act of disrespect, the front row seats at this Regal Cinema theater, are placed at a proximity to the screen so close that it is unfit for any human body to attempt, in futility, to see anything going on in the film whatsoever. It at first seems to be some absurd joke, as many banal tragedies can sometimes feel in the initial moments of comprehension, only for the humor to wear away and yield to a state of hellish discomfort and righteous fury that you’ve came for a good time at the movies, willing to spend the relatively high price that the theaters now charge in this economy, only for the kafkaesque design antics of this late-stage capitalist corporation to spit in your face. It is a waste of money and a disheartening revelation. It is wrong. I could one day return a hypocrite, to a seat further from the screen in theater 11, where I might be able to enjoy my movie. But that won’t stop the front row seats from being an inherently immoral act. Shame on Regal....
Read moreI want to review my local Regal cinema better but unfortunately the one thing that is important me is just really an issue there and continuously remains one which is their food concession set up and ability to deliver.
Let’s just be honest I can’t be the only one on this planet who gets to the theater kind of just in time and then is going to stand in line and then probably didn’t eat lunch or dinner so I’m about to drop some serious cash at the concession stand... I also can’t be the only one Who can’t wait to see all the trailers before the movie but because I’ve become that “just on time” person and because this theater now accommodates picking your seats ahead of time I pretty much reserve my “trailer time” for my “waiting time” at the concession stand time while my kids and friends all get to enjoy trailers.
I finally feel like enough is enough - 2 visits ago I dropped almost $50 and I literally waited a total of 25 minutes just to get my food I had ordered and this was after I had already placed my order and paid. So the total time I waited was 40 minutes before I actually got into the theater thereby missing the beginning of the movie. I did make a gentle complaint to the manager who seemed genuinely apologetic And explained that it was due to the fact that they only had one heating machine in the back. That’s craziness! Especially when it’s busy like it seems to be EVERY time I go.
This kind of sucks for the patrons but it also kind of sucks for the theater because we all know that this is where the money and profit for any movie theater. It is not your movie ticket. But I can assure you that I’m going to come quite well fed and I might stick a couple of bag of M&Ms in my purse before my next visit because I just don’t want to keep waiting and missing out on all the fun and purpose of visiting the movie...
