I used to come here several years ago when it was Vino Prima and it was wonderful. I remember when the front enclosed walkway was an open pass through to the other side. Tonight I walked through with my 4 year old and my friend, but we did not go inside through the entrance. We realized there were tables in there and turned around instead of trying to walk through.

As we were leaving, an employee came out screeching at us that she can't have us in there. Fair enough, it's a 21+ wine bar, totally understood, no problem. We didn't walk inside or attempt to sit down and we were literally already walking out. When she said we couldn't be there, I said "ok, no problem, we're leaving" but rather than letting it go, she screamed that she had already told us this before. Totally untrue, I haven't been here in about 6 years, and there was no point in screaming at us in front of the customers. I responded that this wasn't true because I had not been been there before (under this new ownership) and we were already leaving. AGAIN she made a point of saying she'd already told us that we need to go as we were walking away and I repeated we hadn't been there before so she didn't tell us anything before, and when she did just now, we didn't argue and just said ok as we were leaving. Why wouldn't she let it go and stop screaming?

I understand she may have been frustrated if someone else had done this earlier tonight, but we were not those people, we didn’t attempt to walk inside or sit at the tables in the corridor, we were already leaving, we didn’t argue with her or push back, we just said ok no problem, but she refused to just let us leave quietly and peacefully, and there is never any excuse for a screaming and belittling people in front of several customers. Totally...

Hi everyone. My name is Roger and I had the pleasure and misfortune of running into this place tonight. I was walking the boardwalk and followed the music because I heard a live band playing rock classics which I loved. I bought a cider and decided to listen to the music. Then I realized the band performing, Aqua I think, was a great band. I was enjoying myself taking pictures and videos of them. In moving seats my drink got moved and touched by another guest. Once I looked for my drink again I couldn't find it. I thought maybe one of the other guests who were well beyond impaired perhaps moved it by accident. Thinking this, I tell my bartender of the situation because I didn't want to continue my drink who someone else had touched. Next thing I know the OWNER is kicking me out with attitude. Repeatedly saying "bye we don't want you here". She never did tell me what I did, or the reasoning for kicking me out. I had full intentions on having a good night and listening to the group play.

Long story short, if you want the owner kicking you out just because she can come to this spot. Very unprofessional.

Edit: I'd also like to note that the bar charged me 25 dollars for the ONE CIDER I had after kicking me out. I even told the owner that I would like to cash out. Definitely contacting my bank immediately and refusing the payment. Such a shady business. Just wish I read all the negative reviews before hand. Anna, do better. You're working with customers...

The only reason you should visit this establishment is if you enjoy being overcharged and racially profiled. The minute we walked in we were greeted by a very rude server who immediately stopped us from walking in and offered us tables in their walkway, we were not welcomed inside even though it was empty. She took 20 minutes to take our order after us repeatedly trying to get her attention. She didn’t visit our table once. We received a warm wine flight and when I took it back tried to get something else I was given a rude look and a huge sigh. We had to approach the bar for a second round and for our check. When she presented our check we were so shooken up by the service we didn’t notice we were overcharged until paying. After we paid we brought up the issue with our server and she told us we’re charged for the warm flight of wine she served us that we sent back and didn’t consume. After asking for a manger she told us she was the owner. I don’t see how her business is still afloat. I don’t understand why she treated us this way and will never be returning. Terrible restaurant. I’ve also noticed every other bad review is from someone who isn’t white so I think she’s setting a very...

I must say my daughter heard the music and said wine bar…. I’m the mom so i’m always skeptical but OMGGGGG!!!! This is the biggest hidden gem on the wharf!!!! I’m a wine freak i studied in Dijon France and i have to say for a wine bar on a wharf in Santa Cruz I never dreamed they would be so well gersed in their wine and honestly we had two different bottles and one was as great as the next!!!! I’m always skeptical but we had the best time ever hanging out on a comf sofa listening to such a great blues band c as led THE NEXT BLUES BAND!!!! THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The views were incredible and the owner told me she us doing a whole new menu based on the gems of the sea in the area! We had the charcuterie plate that was perfect with the wine we chose! We will go back at least twice while we are here it was just so chill fun and great wine !!! Thank you Ana everything was amazing!!!

Very happy this place exists! My step dad and mom had been coming here forever and love it. I finally went last time I was in Santa Cruz and will be back. This place has great wine selections, good customers and beautiful views. Happy hour is the best time to come, especially when the sun is setting. The food platter was DELICIOUS. Great choice on cheeses and meats AND they have gluten free crackers. I will be back here just for the ambiance and friendly staff. Also, the word sculptures are suuuuper cute- we have two at home from this place. Support the local artists!
