Poor Denny's Saloon — Restaurant in Santa Fe Springs

Unfortunately, my experiences at Poor Denny’s have been overwhelmingly negative. Every time I’ve gone, I’ve been made to feel uncomfortable and unsafe due to the behavior of certain men who clearly have no sense of boundaries. I’ve experienced repeated instances of being approached/touched inappropriately, sexually harassed, and stared at like I’m not even a person — just something to bother. What’s worse is that this behavior is either ignored or tolerated by the staff, creating an environment where it feels normalized. On top of that, the service is consistently dismissive unless you’re a known regular. There’s a very clear bias, and if you’re not part of their inner circle, expect to be treated like an afterthought. Bartenders can be rude or inattentive, and the energy overall just feels off. I’ve tried to give this place multiple chances, but nothing changes. As a woman, I should be able to enjoy a night out without being harassed or disregarded. Poor Denny’s is...

This place was okay. Kind of a dive, but definitely lively with a somewhat decorative layout behind the bar.

I saw that one of the comments mentioned that the crowd is a bit rowdy. I can definitely see that, in the sense that there were people shouting and swearing, but nothing too hostile.

A couple things to know is that the place is CASH only and I do not believe that there is food.

The service is exceptional. I only had enough cash for 2 beers with a 2 dollar tip. So I gave her the $2 and she gave me another beer. She said that it's on her and not to worry about the other $2 dollars and that it was on her. I thought that was so considerate of her. I will always remember this place in a positive way because of her. I just wish that I could remember her name.

This is the spot if you need a good, cold drink & a chill, old school vibe. I don’t like bars that have windows & Poor Denny’s is old school in that regard. Ever since Ember’s Lounge closed down, this has been my spot. It’s cash only, but there’s a ATM machine there. I love the digital jukebox that allows you to play all kinds of music.
