Now THAT'S a sandwich!
Should I get "The Dancing Avocado? Ooo, how bout "The Club of Extravanza"?!? Maybe the BLT?!!?
Whew, this is hard!
Sandwich Café is a Korean family-owned & operated sammie shop. Easy to miss, nestled in an industrial area & only open M-F 10am - 4pm, don't let that discourage you from visiting. The sandwiches here are stuffed like a prepubescent teen girl's training bra.
By default, all sandwiches come on Sandwich Cafe's famous white roll, with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle, pepperoncini, mayo & mustard. Let the staff know if you want to omit or substitute anything.
Bread choices, besides the white roll, are wheat, sourdough, rye & squaw.
Cheese selections are American, Swiss, provolone, cheddar & pepper jack.
I was tempted to order the half sandwich w/ soup, macaroni or potato salad special. The soup du jour on my visit were chicken tortilla, chili w/cheese & onions, chicken rice w/ avocado, corn & shrimp chowder & cream of mushroom. The reason I didn't go with it, is that the deal is only valid for sandwiches 1-8 & 16-19. "The Southerner" wasn't a part of the special, and I really wanted "The Southerner".
"The Southerner"- Tennessee ham with pan fried tomatoes, coated in bread crumbs & parmesan cheese, topped with Swiss cheese. Just look at that bad boy! Move over Scrubway! Take a hike, Toblow's! Sandwich Café owns your corporate arses! A half sandwich alone is enough for most people. Not for me, though! The portions here are excellent. The fried tomatoes were exceptionally crunchy on the outside, and deliciously juicy on the inside. I relished each and every bite, hoping a bit of pickle was in each one. I was immensely happy I chose "The Southerner" as my first Sandwich Café sammie.
Besides sandwiches, The Sandwich Café also has salad & rice bowls. I'd say stick with the sandwiches, and you will never go wrong. Fountain & bottled drinks are on hand, along with chips & cookies.
Service was good. The young man working the register was friendly and helped me decide what to get. I recommended having Korean-inspired sandwiches, like soondae. He laughed, saying he didn't even like the stuff. The women were quick with making my sandwich, as I didn't wait very long. A fair amount of seating, for about 30 people.
Parking is in a private lot. I'm told the place gets quite busy during lunch, so plan accordingly for parking & for the line. I arrived about an hour & a half before closing, with only one person ahead of me. Calling in orders is highly encouraged.
Sandwich Café makes some killer sandwiches, stuffed enough to satisfy even this greasy glutton. I was not that much of a sandwich guy, finding them bland & boring. Fortunately, the Sandwich Café has changed my whole outlook on all things sandwich. I'm dying to come back & try "The New Yorker", "The Dancing Avocado" etc. But, who am I kidding? I may just order another "Southerner", seeing how awesome it was!
Highly...
Read moreCame here today to have a BLT sandwich Gotta say probably the worst and most money I've ever spent on a BLT d* near being practically $20 coming out to 18.35 And honestly, where's very basic. Can't believe I wasted so much money on a sandwich. That could have bought off from Subway a lot better, and on price just cause. I work next to this place. I see that it looks appealing, but food and prices are not. I have had another sandwich here before. It was not all that great, either should have learned my lesson. Luckily, it wasn't as much money, but for a sandwich that cost almost $18, being a BLT one of the most simplest sounds there is on cheap white bread. Lettuce that you can buy.Who knows how much for 3 dollars a pack of bacon would probably cost the most. They're at 6to 7 dollars for cheap bacon add some tomatoes that dont even cost a dollar extreme disappointment I wouldn't catch myself ever come in here again. Shade assistant to my co-worker and gone to Subway instead. Anyways, it's sad to see that their price is online. That show on Google are not the same that in the store. Things aren't updated, so if you're looking at this place. Make sure to call if you can even get through to. Check the price of a sandwich and good luck. Because in my opinion wouldn't ever recommend not that worth it very basic better. Off spending your own money to make the same sandwiches they offer and actually getting quality product that you can make a great sandwich for. Same price, but make sandwiches for...
Read moreI discovered this spot while looking for a lunch place at my new position and I was not disappointed! The first sandwich I tried was the large Turkey and Bacon on squaw and wow...the ingredients are high quality and fresh, the taste was on point, and the portions were just right. I've since been working my way through the menu and have not found a single item I did nott like. If you're not feeling a sandwich, they also offer rice bowls and salads.
The service is great and it seems to be family run. Talk to William (the usual guy at the counter), he will treat you right.
The lunch hour can busy so I'd recommend coming before 12 or just after 1 or ordering ahead (they do online and phone orders).
Pro tip: Get the half sandwich/soup combo and get the chicken and rice w/ avocado soup. It will...
