Very casual and chill ramen joint on 3rd street promenade. Very simple exterior with hints of an industrial vibe with metal tables and chairs. A number of tables for 2 along the side wall, a huge community table in the middle and bar seating is available. A bit awkward and a tight squeeze ordering when the restaurant was packed.

My boyfriend ordered the Classic Tonkatsu (creamy pork broth, spinach, bean sprouts). The broth was delicious and was flavourful. However, it’s profile is quite monotone and is lacking another layer to make it truly distinct and unique. The noodles thin and not memorable to be honest.

I ended up with the Tsukemen (Pork and fish broth) dipping noodles. The noodles had a nice chew and slurped nicely. I could’ve done without the spinach and the bean sprouts and the the broth was quite fishy for my liking.

Best Bite: hands down goes to the pork belly. They give you chunks of meat and they literally melt in your mouth. I personally prefer a bit more finesse on my meats in ramen but overall it was on point.

I usually judge a ramen joint with how good they’re egg is and their egg was pretty good and had the “jammy” consistency that I love. My boyfriend’s egg on the other hand barely had any of the yolk. Whoever got the other half of that egg got really lucky. Consistency really is key especially if you’re a new...

Wow! I'm glad I found this little gem in the time that I was around the area, because it was delicious! So much so that I visited two days in a row.

On the first day, I tried The Blaze, which was their spicy tonkotsu ramen. The creamy pork broth was as advertised, extremely creamy with a very nice kick of spicy. The ramen noodles themselves were also cooked to a perfect texture. The only fault I found was the pork protein, which I found a little underwhelming. However, that wasn't going to stop me from coming back the second day to try... The Garlic Truffle ramen.

The Garlic Truffle ramen had such a nice scent and flavor of truffle, and I was craving this because my friend had ordered this the first day. Hitting it up once again with the pork protein, this time around it was delicious and soft with a slight char, so I'll ignore my pork experience from the previous day. This is the first time I've ever come across a truffle ramen before and it'll definitely be making me crave more.

Overall, very generous portions and very delicious creamy broth. My friend also ordered the Chicken Karaage Bowl which came with a loooot of deliciously krisp...

After reading so many good reviews about this place, my wife and I were looking forward to try it. Well, that was a major disappointment. If you love ramen, please do yourself a favor and go to Sawtelle Blvd (Japantown), just about every ramen place there is amazing.

Okay, let's get back to Silverlake Ramen. Cool location and slick decor Right on 3rd street promenade Outdoor seating where you can eat with your dog Tsukemen ramen broth is way too sweet (in a bad way). I added 3 scoops of chili and still can't cover the sweetness in the broth. Meat is just pure fattiness and no flavor (probably lost all the pork flavor in the broth) Spicy ramen has no undertone flavor other than spicy. Very mono-tone ramen and forgettable. Horrible setup to order your food. The way they setup the cashier, they might as well move the cashier machine to the front of the door so there are more room to walk around inside the restaurant.

Unfortunately, I recommend people to avoid this place at this moment. I really don't have much good to say...

NO MEAT KATSU CURRY at @silverlakeramen at Santa Monica and Sunset locations in Los Angeles! Silverlake Ramen just released this new menu item called the Impossible Katsu Curry that used impossible meat (which is usually a soy protein) and hayashi sauce (Japanese gravy). It’s a rice bowl that I want to say is around $10-$13 but I was so surprised trying it for the first time. It really tastes like regular chicken katsu so this is a perfect alternative! Check them out exclusively at these two locations! #impossiblemeat #japanesefood #ramen #ricebowl # Japanese food Los Angeles restaurants Santa Monica Japanese restaurant Los Angeles ramen spots sunset Los Angeles Asian food Santa Monica ramen restaurant LA vegetarian spots Los Angeles
