Loved this place the first couple times. Excellent sushi and lovely staff. However, my family and I had a horrible experience there recently (20 December). A large party of young drunken patrons were deafeningly loud and repeatedly used profanity despite a number of children dining in the small venue (including my own). The staff politely asked them to calm down but were ignored and mocked multiple times. I finally pleaded with the offending party myself to at least refrain from screaming obscenities with the children around but was ignored and mocked as well. The staff apologized but did nothing else to stop the chaos (like kick them out). After escorting my family out of the restaurant, I went back inside to speak with the manager. He explained that he was not the actual manager but the assistant manager. He took my name, phone number, and email address and assured me that the manager would reach out to discuss. It has been two weeks and no one has reached out, so I can only assume that they don't care, which is most disappointing. And so now I feel compelled to share this experience. Our evening was ruined as our family was unable to communicate with one another due to the noise and obscene language. Management needed to step up and intervene in this situation but failed to do so. Again, great sushi and lovely staff but with apathetic management that is unwilling to help maintain a civilized atmosphere for the benefit of all patrons this not a family-friendly...

I'm a big fan of their Woodlands Hills location, and have been there a few times, so I decided to try their Santa Monica location. Felt so ripped off. First 3 dishes were good... Then comes 10 pieces of sushi for the rest of the omakase course for $200pp. We didn't even get uni for that price. Then we offered some wine for the chef/owner, we asked for an extra glass, the waiter brought over 2 glasses one for himself... Which we didn't offer, and he poured over 1/4 of the bottle of our really nice wine for the 2 of them... Then he came to refill on our second bottle of wine without asking. When they bring out the sushi to us, the waitress told us the wrong fish... She didn't even know her fish and the waiter try to correct her and she argue at the table with the waiter what the fish was. This is the service at a $200pp restaurant... And we were not full after the omakase course, we got an extra order of tempura... Which was not cooked through. Then we got our dessert with a rotten strawberry. When we pay the bill... We didn't realized they gave us the tip scale including the tax... And we way over tipped for such poor service. Not coming back. O, and there's only street parking, so good luck looking for one...

If you’re searching for the best sushi on the Westside—possibly in all of LA—The Brothers Sushi in Santa Monica is where your journey ends. This isn’t just dinner; it’s an elevated, deeply thoughtful experience that showcases the absolute best of what sushi can be.

The fish? Impeccable. Much of it is flown in daily from Japan, and every piece is handled with masterful precision. Whether you're indulging in their omakase or ordering à la carte, every bite is perfectly balanced, subtly complex, and unforgettable. The toro is rich and buttery, the Hokkaido scallop is impossibly delicate, and the uni tastes like pure ocean gold.

The omakase is truly the star—it’s intimate, artfully paced, and constantly rotating with the seasons. You can feel the chef’s passion in every course. And even with the elevated quality, the atmosphere remains warm, relaxed, and unpretentious. It’s clear the team here is focused on one thing: excellence.

Santa Monica is lucky to have a spot like this—a world-class sushi destination tucked into a calm corner of the Westside. For serious sushi lovers,...

Upscale sushi restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. Our waitress recommended the miso sea bass wraps, which were delicious. We’ve been here three times and each experience has been a wonderful dinner. It’s pricey, but you get what you spend - high quality sushi with exceptional service in a serene Japanese ambiance. We recommend their plum wine - it’s sweet, enjoyable, and pungent in plum flavor and served chill. Our first time we did the Omakasi prefixed meal, which showcased unique sushi and dishes. It’s expensive. We went Nov2024, it was $200+ per person. We ended up ordering another roll of spicy tuna at the end of the courses. They were generous and gave me a dessert with a candle as we celebrated my birthday ◡̈ The second and third time, we ate Al la carte. As mentioned before, we recommend the miso sea bass wraps. The truffled Yama Imo Fries are worth ordering. Nigiri orders and sushi rolls can add up in price. Overall, The Brothers Sushi has been our go to spot to celebrate special occasions.

authentic japan-standard sushi in LA. sushi snob here and its my second time back at Brothers Sushi Santa Monica. id always choose the Omakase lunch menu here. its good value at $100 per pax. i get a starter, 10 nigiris, salad and soup. every bite was more impressive than the last. fish was well aged, rice was warm and well seasoned with shari, no soy sauce or wasabi is provided because the sushi/nigiri gets seasoned by the chef before he serves it up - all the hallmarks of good sushi enjoyed in a relaxed and casual setting. its never busy at lunch. made a last minute booking (2hrs before on day of( and got seats immediately. also love that they have Orion (my fav japanese beer) on draft. always a joy dining at Brother’s Sushi. arigato gozaimasssssss
