I have eaten here a few times and had a decent experience. I came through the drive-thru the other day with my daughter and granddaughter ordered two cups of clam chowder came up to the window handed me the bag it felt a little light we went around the corner opened up the clam chowder there was basically maybe one cup between the two containers not quite a cup actually I went inside the restaurant brought it to their attention they said they came in these small ceramic bowls they showed me from the restaurant. I poured the container they handed me through the drive-thru and into one of their cups that they serve in at the restaurant. It did not even fill the small cup even halfway up. I told them you serve this? And they looked at me like I was crazy or they had been caught? Never once did the owner apologize or ask to make it right! I told them to make them both a legit cup or return my money. . Since I did pay$12.68 for less then 1 cup of clam chowder. I felt robbed, deceived & gotten over on not sure if it was my ethnicity, maybe I was being discriminated on. Brothers get it together this is Sonoma county where a small knit community here .I happened to ba a CTA (certified tourism ambassador) in Sonoma county Not good to rip off people in such a small county. It was a very bad experience and I believe I faced the owner in there when I walked in. You will remember me. But I'll probably never be in your restaurant again I feel like you were ripping me off on purpose. I just wanted to call you out. So other people are aware what they're dealing with when they come into Brothers. This is NOT...
Read moreGiven that BiteClubEats suggests this place and the number of people there, I had high hopes, but boy was I disappointed.
I got the biscuits and sausage gravy. On the menu, right below that item is the veggie version with mushrooms. Below that it says to add 2 eggs and country potatoes, add an additional $5.25. I erred and assumed this pricing would apply to the sausage version. Nope - what I expected to be about $16ish in food, it was over $20. Maybe that was the way the waiter put the order in? I don't know. I could have forgiven that, except....
The biscuits and gravy were some of the worst I've had in my life, and that's saying something. The flour in the gravy wasn't fully cooked and had the raw flour taste to it. If the menu hadn't called it sausage gravy, I would never have been able to tell you what meat was used...it was otherwise flavorless. It also had zero salt added, or so it seemed. I dumped a bunch onto it at the table and it at least became passable.
The coffee was good and the service was great, except for the bill error. They frequently checked to see if we needed more coffee etc. Oh - the eggs were great and the potatoes were serviceable, again, they needed a lot of salt to make them taste like something.
For what it's worth, one other person at the table also got the biscuits and sausage gravy and had similar comments about the dish.
I don't plan on going back....there just wasn't enough to make it worth it given the large number of other awesome, and even decent, breakfast spots...
Read more"Excellent food and service with some serious strengths and a few weaknesses. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The French dip is exceptional with tender beef, flavorful caramelized onions, and cheese on a perfect bun. The meat was well-seasoned and juicy, and the bread was toasted to perfection. We also enjoyed several other dishes, including the short rib hash with perfectly cooked bits of beef roast and great potatoes, the veggie hash, Dutch baby, crepes, and beautifully seasoned breakfast potatoes. However, the hollandaise sauce was not traditional, and its texture was slightly grainy due to thickening. It lacked velvetiness of the classic egg yolks, butter, and lemon emulsion. While this would normally be a deal breaker for me, there were so many other great dishes that I have to let it go. The biscuits and gravy also fell short as the gravy was bland and did not taste like it was cooked together with the sausage. Instead, it tasted like thickened canned milk and some sausage sprinkled in it after-the-fact. That being said, tastes are subjective, and while four of us disliked the hollandaise sauce, my friend enjoyed the gravy. So perhaps you will too. I can’t wait to try the Reuben sandwich next as I can tell by the cooking style that it's going to be excellent. Based on our experience, I'm sure it will be another standout dish...
