I ordered a custom cake for my own birthday. It was Dawn’s banana cake with chocolate mouse filling between layers & peanut butter frosting. She was a joy to speak with on the phone & I asked if she could make the outside icing layer thinner & in general make the icing less sweet. All I can say is boy did she deliver! This cake was AMAZING! The banana sponge was moist, really flavorful & a beautiful smooth texture. The chocolate mouse filling was light & creamy & the peanut butter frosting was so peanut-buttery & light in quantity of application just as requested & the overall experience was so deliciously balanced. I ordered a carrot cake for my dad’s birthday this weekend. We have several die hard carrot cake fans in our family and I was excited to try it. I was not disappointed.

First off, I was surprised at the weight. Very substantial cake. The exterior was very simple and unassuming. No heavy frosting, no extras.

But the taste. What an amazingly light, fluffy, moist and delicate cake. Everyone but my mom loves a really sweet cake and somehow this cake made us all happy. Just sweet enough. And I would buy that frosting on its own. I’ve never tried such a rich and yet very light cream cheese frosting. Everything was just enough.

This is probably the best carrot cake I’ve ever had (sorry grandma). Definitely...
