I really wanted to like this place, but it was pretty average for me, and more expensive than the quality of the food warrants. The mimosas were really good. I’ll give them that. I’ve never really “liked” mimosas all that much either, so that’s saying something. Kinda small, but the trio was perfect for me. I will note, the website states $17 but we were charged $19. They really should keep their website prices up to date. I’m sure the food was probably more too.
The food wasn’t bad… it just seemed like it was trying too hard to be modern and high quality but didn’t quite pull it off. Pancakes were sort of dense and dry. Sausage was slightly gristly and mediocre. Toast wasn’t toasted enough. My fiancé thought the bread of his benedict was undercooked.
There were lots of staff, yet we were almost done with our meals and our waitress never checked on us. I was waiting for the opportunity to ask for more butter for my pancakes and jam for my toast. My fiancé ended asking a random employee. The bill was $86 for two breakfasts, a short stack and two mimosa samplers, before tip. For that price I do expect more.
Also, the bathroom could have used a refreshing. Paper towels overflowing in the trash and a nasty deposit left in the...
Read moreConflicted review. First visit wasn't good.... Bacon always overdone and too salty. Toast was too hard, and so was the biscuit. Gravy was undersalted/under flavored. My friend had a hair on her toast, and when I ordered a flight of mimosas I only got one.
The orders were made correctly but the kitchen didn't prepare them very well. (It was a weekday, also. Not very busy).
HOWEVER....
The manager asked how things were and my friend pointed out the hair. Gave my friend a food comp ticket and took her meal with the hair off our ticket.
When we came back the service was much better, and FAST. it was a Sunday (brunch day) and I got bottomless mimosas. They kept my glass filled 100% (which I desperately needed), and the food was much better. I had eggs Benedict and the English muffin was delicious and fluffy. My friends meal was also better, bacon still over cooked and too salty. But definitely an upgrade from before.
Only doing 4 stars for the food selection and bacon quality. Not alot of food to choose from in my personal opinion. And the original waitresses weren't all that kind the first go around. Overall, I'd go again on a busy day for the bottomless mimosas and eggs...
Read moreI’ve been to cafe mimosa many times. I usually go to the rohnert park location. Decided to go to the one in Santa Rosa today since i work near by. From the moment we walked in the service was horrible. Not friendly at all when we walked in. Our server was extremely slow and took forever to get our coffee and waters and it wasn’t that busy at all. Our food came out one second after we had finally received our drinks. The food itself tasted great, however when i had asked to substitute my pork sausage in my protein hash for chicken sausage instead the waitress said no problem but then delivers our bill with an up charge of $6! When i asked about the charge the manager was very rude and tried to tell me it was because they just added it to my plate instead of substituting it which was not the case. She ran back to talk with the chef to confirm that they did not add extra and then decided to give me a lecture and say they don’t allow changes to items on the menu. Anyways food is great but won’t be back definitely to this location. Staff very...
