Golden Bun — Restaurant in Santa Rosa

YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS PLACE.

Its been rough trying to find a food authentic Vietnamese/Cambodian food spot in Downtown Santa Rosa. I never knew this spot ever existed until I had moved next door.

TRY THE PHO.

The pho here reminds me of when my mother use to make it. The broth is prepared the night before actually serving it which brings out more of the natural delicious flavor which you WILL NOT experience at other pho locations around. (All love and respect to all pho restaurants nearby ❤️)

The place looks a little run down but DO NOT let that discourage you. The food quality here is 👌 and worth a first try.

I usually don’t usually leave negative reviews but I feel this is necessary to help them improve or failure is inevitable. I got the Golden Bun Combo Bánh mì with Pork sausage, roasted pork, cured pork & pâté, $11.50. It was underwhelming and the pâté was practically nonexistent. Especially at this price they need to do better. They should immediately send someone to Saigon Sandwich in San Francisco and see how they make a Combo Bánh mì for $7. I’m not expecting the quality or the price I find in San Francisco here in Santa Rosa, but they need to do better if they want to...

Absolute best báhn mi in Sonoma County. Period. Light, crispy, rolls that are so soft in the middle. Fresh, crisp, veggies. And the tofu is spongy yet firm. Add some hoisin sauce to the sammy and you're in business. They also make outstanding veggie spring rolls, smoothies, and my gf loves the Thai tea, which isn't too sweet. And the pricing is as good as you'll get downtown. This is seriously the only place I go for bánh mi, and I come here often, as it's healthy and affordable.
