Dave's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Santa Rosa

Most of the time this location is great, been here at least 10 times. Today the table was sticky, and the sandwich had maybe 20% of the slaw as usual, and I ordered for here and they packaged it to go. Sh happens so I bought sandwich up and they put a little more slaw on it, without apologizing or acknowledging that they put almost none or any other accommodation. I figure perhaps management might care that there is clear opportunity for improvement in training and leading the staff and providing better customer experience. Some ideas are to make sure they are friendly and include an abundant amount of slaw on sandwiches, also to pay attention and double check if it’s for here or to go. Also the bathrooms are locked with a code, probably to keep drug addicts out, but please print the code on the receipt for customers. Another idea would be to have a special for certain times like happy hour special day or something like that. In LA there is one called red chikz that does Thursday all day $2 massive tenders and the whole area loves it! Also kinda crazy to charge $15 a meal and not include the drink, which costs pennies to a fast casual place like this and customers self serve. Also use biodegradable packaging and bags, I got one sandwich and they put it in a black plastic clamshell and then put that in a plastic shopping bag. So unnecessary. So I went to a hot chicken place called Dave's. Nice fresh food so it has nothing to do with what I'm about to tell you. I love spicy food. Especially chicken. So of coarse I went straight to the atomic spice level. Thoroughly enjoyed it. About a minute and 45 seconds after I left something terrible began to happen. I needed a bathroom. Bad. And me not knowing my way around santa rosa this presented a problem. I immediately started looking for a rest stop of sorts. Couldnt see anything and my time was running out, fast. Had to use Siri, "siri I need a bathroom" Siri brought up public bathrooms FIFETEEN MILES AWAY. Me, already sweating, "siri I REALLY need to FIND A BATHROOM!" SIRI, "ok taking you to the nearest ER" Me, now screaming, am starting to look down alleyways for a bush or a mailbox to violate. I was not about to destroy the brand new company vehicle I was in. Me, with tears in my eyes, spots my salvation. An open mountain Mike's pizza. Flying through the parking lot without regard for human safety or traffic laws stop my car and hobble inside. I was unable to move any faster. Ignoring the employees welcoming me in (not daring eye contact) I burst into the bathroom. I cannot fathom the unholy noises I made. One can only assume it was an exorcism of sorts. After what seemed like hours, I am finally relieved. I exited the building as quickly as I arrived. 10/10 would eat at Daveys hot...

I was told about Dave's Hot Chicken by a co-worker. I kept putting off going and finally did. I am stuck on the tenders. Literally STUCK! I have been there a few times, ordered delivery a few times (was way to hot to go there - so delivery).

OK, to the chicken. I just get the tenders.... I was ordering the medium heat, however tried the hot and I think this heat level is my new favorite.

I order 4 tenders and eat them thru out the day (do to medication I need to eat several times a day - so perfect!) and the next day. The tenders are juicy and even retain that juicy meat the next day. I get the Dave's sauce and honey and have now added (from home) sweet heat jalapenos to the mix!! Yum...

Customer service, all the employee are super polite and helpful. My order was missing some extra sauce (cost $.25 a packet) once, went in and staff was very aplogetic and made it right. AND the manager reached out to me via e-mail (as I am a "member" with the store online) and yesterday, after ordering 5 tenders Friday, they reached out to me again to make sure everything was correct. Super efficient and they actually DO care about their customers. (Sorry a bit long - however needed to be long)

Give them a try! From the food, the customer service in store and beyond is excellent from a "fast" food place. 5 stars...
