My wife and I stopped by Ike's in Santa Rosa for a late lunch around 2 PM on a Sunday, just looking for a decent sandwich spot with good reviews. What we found at Ike's far exceeded any expectations we could have possibly had. This place is an absolute gem, and it all comes down to the unbelievable taste and quality of the food, which I'd rate a solid 10/10, or even 20/10 if that were possible!
The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a walk-up style sandwich shop or deli. There's no inside seating, but a few convenient covered tables outside if you choose to eat on-site, which perfectly suits the casual vibe. The service was efficient and quick – basic, friendly interactions that kept the line moving at a great pace, exactly what you want in this type of setting. There's no fake niceness or over-the-top formality, just good, honest service.
The menu itself is vast and incredibly creative, boasting an impressive array of unique options. It's worth a quick note for parents: some of the sandwich names are definitely on the playful, sexually-suggestive side, surely intended for an adult sense of humor. Just something to be aware of if you're browsing the menu with school-aged kids.
Now, for the main event: the food. WOW. AMAZING. I opted for the "Bella" on their famous Dutch Crunch bread, and my wife chose the "Hoodie and the Jellyfish" on French bread. These sandwiches genuinely blew us away. Every ingredient was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor; there was absolutely nothing left to be desired. I can honestly say it was easily the best sandwich I have ever eaten, and my wife was equally enthusiastic about hers.
We will absolutely be back to Ike's, and the only question is whether we'll be able to resist ordering more than just one sandwich each next time! If you are anywhere in the Santa Rosa area and looking for an unforgettable sandwich experience, trying Ike's is an absolute necessity. You won't be...
Read moreMy family has been a loyal customer of Ike's Place in Santa Rosa.
Earlier today, I went to get us 3 sandwiches for lunch, after standing in line for a few minutes, my order was taken at exactly 2:10 pm.
After 15 minutes of waiting, I asked the same cashier about my order, she said "sorry, we are really busy".
After waiting another 10 minutes I asked a different cashier, he said "we are working on it now".
After seeing more people come in and leave with their orders, I lost my patience, went to the second cashier I had spoken to and inquired about my order AGAIN. I received the same answer "we are working on it, it will be ready soon"
After 5 more minutes passed by I went back to the same cashier, expressed my frustration in a polite way and demanded a refund and cancellation of my order. He went to the food preparation area, and a different man on a pony tail came to the cashier to perform the cancellation. His only reply was "I am sorry"
After waiting and wasting over 35 minutes of my time, I had to leave with no lunch for me and my family and with nothing but a "I am sorry"!
I tried to find a phone number or email address for this company, could not find it anywhere on the internet.

Read moreThe sandwiches are top shelf -- I wish the parking was better. The employees are always friendly and well trained (though sometimes I feel rushed) but I feel that the service/venue could be optimized/improved a bit.
Update -- had to lower the review a bit unfortunately -- best sandwiches in town, but have had negative experiences recently. The employees work their hearts out but the place is very understaffed. I see stress in their eyes as they rush from patron after patron (albeit very politely) and on days where deals are offered (i.e. April Fool's Day or 04/20), they are overly booked and have to lock the entrance so no new customers can come in. It seems that management doesn't do a good job at correctly forecasting and prepping for proper ingredient amounts from their vendors and staffing to be ready for busy times/days. We came in at 6:30 and were told to leave because they were out of food. I wasn't upset but many people were giving these poor employees so much grief for something beyond their control.
I hope they improve their management and perhaps act good on their deals that they can never seem to keep to...
