UPDATE: Just one month after my first experience and review, I found myself back at Salt and Straw giving it another go. I was very please and so was my Belgian Malinois. I was happy they changed the vegan flavors. It's hard being vegan sometimes and going out since vegan is limited. But these guys keep coming through with options. My dog doesn't discriminate though. He's happy with everything. I asked about the "pup cup" on the menu and they told me it's was carrot and apple slices. He wont want that. So I asked for whipped cream in a cup instead. We sat outside and enjoyed our treats. I gave him some of my vegan hazelnut ice cream. We were both happy and will be back again. The ice cream is very very good!
The overly fancy pants ice cream comes at a cost. It was mega delicious, don't get me wrong. But I am pretty convinced the vegan ice cream I was eating was not vegan. I mean, how can it taste so good? It was really that tasty. As a vegan, I felt like a criminal breaking the law with every bite. I don't know what their secret is.
They have quiet a little waffle factory going on behind the counter. The waffle smell lingers all the way down the hwy 12. My kiddo enjoyed their cones.
So why not the 5 star? Well, we are still trying to understand how 2 single scoops and 1 milkshake came to $40. Yeah, I am still blown away as I type it out. Rent is astronomical in Montgomery village and so is my mortgage. So, our little family will end back up at out favorite fro-yo place where we can all get our fix for under $20. It's 5 star ice cream, but...

Thereās lots of construction going on in the area but the plaza is still cute and family friendly. They just opened up this location and there are a lot of eager and friendly workers. There are no limits to samples and you can smell the waffle cones being made! I always like to get a split scoop which are 2 smaller sized scoops so you can try 2 flavors! I wanted to try flavors I havenāt gotten I tried the peanut butter brittle caramel fudge that was vegan and a seasonal flavor- wild foraged berry pie slab. I also got a scoop of freckled mint chip for home. Thereās plenty of seating outside and around to hang out. Since it just opened itās...

So much fun if you wanna try more then one or to share. I purchased an extra coneā¦.. so delicious! Different then many other ice cream shops. Flavors are delicious and unique. Both times we went we had a girl named Taylor. Her customer service was so great! Any business would be lucky to have her as customer service in lacking in many businesses now days. Sheās definitely keeping the good vibes rolling! I will definitely be back. Over all would recommend to try salt and...
