My family have been a loyal customer for years. My dad has probably ordered from them over 7/8 times. He asked them to ship our most recent order through FEDEX because I've have bad experiences with USPS in the past. The owner said the he was going to ship it through USPS as they do a great job. Rather than listening to us in the first place he proceeded to ship it with USPS. My package never arrived spent over $100. USPS said they were returning the package back to Baklava king due to not being able to verify the person lived at the address even though the address on the shipping label was correct and so was my name. I called baklava king to tell him the situation and rather than be understanding he refused to help or be accommodating of the situation. This type of customer service is extremely distasteful and as a buisness they should be more understanding to the customers. He also said "You want us to take a loss". What I can't understand is how a business can tell a customer we won't take a loss and essentially tell me as a customer to take a loss. He basically said sorry we won't send you a new order and you don't get anything and that i guess u get to take a $140 loss. I love their baklava and I've ordered probably over $1000 worth of it from them over the years. I can't however understand how a business can be as unapologetic as them. Extremely disappointed and they just lost a...
Read moreI had some a very unpleasant discussions with the owner. His reactions are absolutely inappropriate. I was writing about it on Yelp but he keeps on removing them every time. Do not fall for the Yelp reviews, because in my opinion he lets Yelp remove all the negative reviews - that's basically the reason why he is a 5 of 5 on Yelp (should make you very suspicious). I tried couple of times explaining what happened, so I could take one for the team and spare you some trouble. So, the only place left to trust is Google - where freedom of speech counts (you know why Google is better than Yelp? Because Googlers wouldn't remove people's opinions)
Anyhow, the owner came very harsh on me, when I wrote a critic and expressed my opinion on Yelp. And I would always say that it was my opinion and not even state is as fact - so let the reader judge for himself. He seems not to care at all. He was also writing in caps and expressing a very strong opinion.
So, this is what I think: If everything works fine for you, you probably be fine with this place. Enjoy the Baklava (or just return it). But God forbid if you encounter any problems, expect some heavy backfire coming your way.
Follow-up Sep 20 : See his comment below? This is his original tone. Meet the owner himself. So emotional, so unprofessional. He messaged me with something similar but using...
Read moreI've been a big fan of baklava for a very long time. Its great with coffee or milk tea as the combination of flavors easily meshes together. I'm so happy to have come across this establishment as I tend to go to other cities to get my baklava fix. However, I think I've found my new baklava joint! So you can certainly order through the website and they come in a small package medium or large. I opted for the medium($20) box which had enough to try out their supply. I have to admit, the gentleman I spoke with knew his baklava! I took home the box let it sit for an hour and dug in. It was one of the best things I've ever tasted. The other places tend to be heavy on the sugar, but these were perfect. I'm planning to get more and he told me that the pieces are customizable, just call and swap out different flavors and the ones you prefer. I'm planning to definitely order for in the future. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you for the...
