A stunning tasting menu, in an unconventional location, prepared in an unconventional kitchen. The chef is a master. Given the minimalist kitchen (literally the breakfast bar in a hotel). Chef Patrik Petterson is a magician. Our 7 course tasting menu was spectacular. Starting with 2 amuse, foie gras and a chorizo cheese puff…both genius. The shrimp in crème fraiche with dill and citrus dust…delicious. I loved the white fish roe panna cotta, it was delicate but packed powerful flavor and texture. The duck course was prepared perfectly. As was the steak and fried polenta. Dessert isn’t my thing but everyone enjoyed their small bites of cheesecake, pecan tart and mini crème brûlée. We opted for the wine pairing and they did a wonderful job selecting each wine to complement each dish. I had no idea this restaurant existed until my niece went there and couldn’t stop raving about their experience. Yes, the setting is a little odd but we never noticed our surroundings. The art on the plate, the great service and delightful staff created an amazing experience. We dine around the world and enjoy tasting menus that stretch our palates and offer an opportunity to experience creative cuisine. We consider ourselves very lucky to have such a terrific place in our...
Read moreTerrible Valentines Day experience. Restaurant was completely unprepared for the reservations they accepted. To say their service was bad would be giving them too much credit. There was literally NO service. The bartender said they have 1 server and 1 bartender for an entirely full house. We never had a server and were there two hours. Random people would stop by and not know what was going on or what we needed. They had a line of people beside us with hot plates fixing food without any ventilation so we smelled like grease after getting home. After waiting almost two hours we finally received our third of five courses. Branzino. It was the consistency of rubber and was translucent - almost completely raw. This could have given me food poisoning. We informed the manager and left. Valentines Day is a special event , please be more considerate of your patrons time when accepting reservations when you are not AT ALL prepared...
Read moreThis place deserves a Michelin Star if not two. The experience was wonderful from the moment we arrived. At the entrance we were greeted with enthusiasm by Justin the owner of the restaurant. He promptly set us at the table and went over the menu options. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and the different meals offered. As we waited for the 7 course meal the chef sent over a little tastebud teaser that was mouth watering. And that was just the beginning, each dish was carefully crafted and delicate and just so tasteful.
We were pleasantly surprised when the chef himself: Patrik came by to ensure we were enjoying the food. He shared a bit about the food and the process and his passion which was a luxurious touch to the experience.
Kelsy our server topped the experience of by being friendly, responsive and checking in with us regularly to make sure our wine glasses were flowing.
Couldn’t have asked for a...
