If we weren’t exhausted from traveling we would have left immediately. From the outside the hotel looks fine and pretty standard but the inside is a completely different story. Immediately upon entering there was an awful, moldy smell. The paint was filthy and there were holes everywhere in the room. The top lock was also ripped off the door. Walking further into the room we noticed the furniture was stained, dirty, and peeling and the flooring wasn’t level. There was no trash can in the room or bathroom. There is also black mold everywhere. Additionally, the television didn’t work either and there were sugar ants throughout the room, even on the sheets. As if that wasn’t enough, this hotel was so loud. The people at the pool were blaring music, screaming, and running for hours. Then after the pool was closed it was just the constant banging from other rooms. There is no quality to these rooms and not even worth a quarter of what we paid for a few hours of sleep before continuing traveling. The only good thing I have to say is that the front lobby is very clean and inviting and the front desk staff was kind. However, we called the front and went down to speak with them and nothing was ever fixed and no one came to the room to even bring a trash can or switch out the television. At over $100 a night this should have been better. Update: At 1245 am the woman at the front desk came up to check the room. She moved us to a new room immediately upon entering to the opposite side of the hotel that was immaculately clean and the complete opposite of the room we were originally given. Thank you for giving us a much better nights sleep sans bugs.

What a disaster!! Smell mold; extremely humid; unmatching and "hairy" bedding; no wire in the phone so no communication with staff; microwave rusty inside and dirty; broken door lock; shower hear kept falling with the water pressure; TV worked but no cable signal. The staff immediately offered a full refund for me and my son to leave instead of changing the room. Same-day rates were very expensive and most of the hotels were booked, so we decided to stay in that poor condition. They switched our room on the next day TV, phone, and shower head were good, but we saw 2 cockroaches. Ps.: The hotel was hit by the Milton hurricane 17 days ago, the only related issue was the humidity and mold, which they tried to solve by leaving this huge dehumidifier incredibly loud (like a jet sound) 24/7. We turned that off to sleep. The staff did not respect the sign "DO NOT DISTURB" on the door. There was a sign at the front desk indicating "NO ROOM SERVICE DUE TO SHORT STAFF", so what in the world they did do in our room since the only difference we noticed was the curtain was completely open leaving our belongings with no privacy all day long. The breakfast just follows along with the poor quality, quantity, and hygiene as everything described above. I went to the laundry to get towels and saw all the dirty bedding and towels sitting on the dirty floor. The towels were smelly and full of stains clearly not bleached. A HOTEL WITHOUT HOSPITALITY, this is how it's properly described. PLEASE, buy my frustration and don't do it to yourself. Nothing, nothing in this feedback is an exaggeration. See some photos attached.

Based on my stay last night this is a 4 star hotel at a 2 star priced! I was driving into Sarasota yesterday with no hotel reservation. I called several hotels Hyatt Regency $179, Marriott Residence Inn $149, as well as several other hotel chains all charging $99-129 to be by the airport or highway. This Days in property is located on Tamiami / US 41 right across from the bay, only a couple of miles from St. Armands Circle, and just a few more miles to the beaches. The price was much lower than everyone else and at first I was hesitant as I am a Marriott Platinum member and my wife is a Hiltons Rewards. I thought about using my Marriott points but it just wasn’t worth 30,000 points to be across from Sarasota International Airport. So when I was greeted by Samantha, she provided me a quote and told the rooms were renovated. When I walked in, you can tell it was, it had wood plank ceramic tiles, the shower was upgraded, they had a nice TV, Microwave, and refrigerator plus a desk with a USB plug in to charge your smart phone! Hum….many hotels don’t have those….what was even cool was the tv had a usb plug on the back side so if you have movies or songs you want to play you can. The room was quiet, I didn’t hear my guests on either side or above. Overall very satisfied and will use again on my next trip through! Thank you Days Inn Sarasota !!!

Please note**: No sleeping in past 7am to 1030am EVER in this hotel and NO RUNNING WATER AT ALL for showers or flushing the TOILET for 4 to 8 hours at a time this is DAILY!!! 7am to 7pm (sporadic times lasting at least 4 to 8 hours a daily). $68 to $72 a night is the ABSOLUTE lowest you will pay even if their website shows $7 less elsewhere.

Severe EXCESSIVE ONGOING CONSTRUCTION SOUNDS due to DEMOLITION OF ENTIRE 2ND FLOOR. Ripping out entireBATHTUBS FOR A MASSIVE REMODELING PROJECT. It's probably something they won't tell you til after you prepay and book your non-refundable reservation. COME SEE THE HOTEL AND NEGOTIATE HALF PRICE RATE. If you can be up and out by 7 or 8am daily and don't come back til 7pm you can avoid 99% of the migraines and dust that comes through the air vents. It is not fair to fail to disclose the scope and magnitude of such a disturbing loud project that disturbs your peaceful enjoyment which is what you paid for and expect in a hotel chain. Sleep and peace and quiet is what travellers want and need and a relaxing environment with good customer service oriented staff. They don't care that you are sufferibg and if you are utterly miserable and angry and they will continue to charge you full price higher than the advertised rates on the website without a good explanation. Why wouldnt the rates drop down to $40 a night since we cant even use the shower or swimming pool or laundry or showers because the water shut-off in the entire hotel and the noises are so loud even outside that it forces you to have to bring your coffee to a whole other parking lot so you can think and concentrate and make phone calls. Not to mention the inhalation of popcorn dust filling up my room to where I couldnt even breathe without SNEEZING AND WHEEZING. They didn't care and didn't offer a refund on thr days thr noise lasted 8 hours a day and the eater eas shut off 6 hiurs a day not four. They didn't want ti be bothered with switching my room the three tines I pleaded to please move me away from the construction as far as possible. They verbally apologized and said that moving me "can't be done" and said all the other rooms were booked. And that was that. Then they went ahead and raised my room rate to $91.33 the same day when the web said $66.60 a night!

2 days later a different staff member went back and was able to get me $58 a night after I questioned the customer service and customer complaint policies . Still feel like an additional 7 day free voucher is owed to all guests between Nov. 3rd to Nov. 11th at the very least. No one got any sleep that week and no one told us the water would be out for the whole week or what times. And they sure werent sticking to any noon to 4pm water outage schedule for the...

OMG -where to start??? This was the most disgusting property I’ve ever stayed in, in my entire life!!! We were horrified but by the time we discovered how awful, it was too late to cancel.

There is virtually no staff. You are greeted by an empty lobby with a kiosk and virtual attendant. There are tables but chairs are tilted against the tables so you can’t sit there without rearranging the chairs. Lovely greeting.

At some point a lovely, in person, front desk attendant did show up but she is managing two hotel properties, at the same time, and runs between the two properties, a few hundred feet apart so is absent half the time.

While my room was ready, there was an additional charge to check in before 2 pm. If you don’t pay up, you sit in the empty lobby and wait. For this dump, I was charged $312 for a Saturday night. This is such a rip off for a run down dump. Who charges extra to get in a few minutes early?? The virtual attendant announces loudly your room number so others can hear since she cannot write it on a card sleeve as hotel staff normally do. So much for safety.

Lobby bathrooms are locked. With no front desk attendant, there is no bathroom key while you wait for room you have already been charged for, is available but you must pay extra to get into before 2 pm. OUTRAGEOUS. There is no coffee available while you wait.

Room is disgusting. Floors are vinyl wood planks that are lifting up from wear. Sofa is sagging and ripped all over plus filthy. Would never sit on it. Furniture is all chipped, scratched, everywhere. It’s the kind of furniture you see discarded on the side of the road. DISGUSTING. TV has no Netflix, only basic channels.

You must agree to another $100 incidental hold on your card. There are no incidentals available!!!! Only a vending machine. So this charge can only be for phone use.

You are warned. Don’t even think of staying here....
