Love the modern artistic vibe. Getting out of the typical hotel room. It’s clean. Love the full length windows. The separation of the shower and toilet is a great idea. For a couple this shouldn’t be an issue if someone wanted to close the door when they use the toilet, the person in the shower will just experience it open, which we don’t mind whatsoever. The sink is out in the open so may disturb a light sleeper but was not a problem for us at all. The sink did have a somewhat slow drain but wasn’t a hinderance. Plenty of shelving and hanging space. The bed was great. I would consider it in between semi soft and semi firm. It’s much better than our guest bed. The room is a decent and prob average size in comparison to the norm yet it feels light, spacious and not stuffy like the average hotel room. NO carpet! Yay! It is a pleasant tile floor that resembles light wood. There is a small/mini fridge. There is a safe but we don’t use it. The AC worked great! The nice tv has a few channels for live tv but they have the streaming apps that you can login to with your own account. Great location, though not walking distance to shops. Just the right amount of upscale yet affordable and not overdoing it, like the restaurant for example is not too much and not too little of atmosphere. Just note that it. Is not a big menu. Is pricey. Nice vibe overall to hang out without leaving the hotel. Very chill area. The pool looked nice but we ended up not using it. Never seemed busy with families and kids, therefore not loud. We also couldn’t hear anything from our room except for faint sound of other nearby doors closing in the hallway. They have a policy if they have to ask a guest atleast twice to be quiet then they will be asked to leave. One excellent thing I appreciate is that they have two locks on the door. One normal lock and one that has the “arm” that folds out to block it from swinging open. And of course can’t open from the outside without the card. They only provide housekeeping service upon request, which we don’t mind at all. Both elevators worked nicely. Customer service is kind, efficient and helpful. Even when the front desk lady was having to deal with rude complaining people trying to check in, she remained calm and polite. Also, a lot of people in the reviews are complaining that they ask for a $200 deposit for incidentals. If you travel enough, you should know that this is common practice. They do return the deposit if nothing was damaged. They do have a spinning wheel that you get something for free after leaving a review, which I think is nice. They don’t look at the reviews so it doesn’t matter what you write. When we asked about having a late checkout, the lady said to leave a review and she would give us a free late checkout. No problem here! (I don’t understand why Others complained about this.) The breakfast buffet is $7 per person. Which is not a bad deal considering the price of each nights stay is very affordable. They will provide muffins or hand prepared coffee/espresso type drinks at any time at the desk. They do allow pets but not sure on the policy. We saw 2 big dogs and one small one. It’s free parking that is gated. It is very handicapped/disabled/wheelchair friendly, including the rooms. I would def come back again and am already recommending this to family...
Read moreEdit: Following my recent stay, I received an email stating the hotel had been trying to contact me for days, which was confusing as it was the first communication I had received. I called the provided number but was unable to reach anyone directly, so I followed up via email. After expressing my concerns, they offered to discuss over the phone, but I preferred to communicate via email.
I thanked them for their time and requested a full refund due to my dissatisfaction with the service received.Initially offered a 20% refund ($20) or a 35% refund, I declined and reiterated my preference for a full refund, citing a lack of confidence in their handling of the situation. Their subsequent offer of a 25% refund and a 45% credit was disappointing given their earlier response. I emphasized that I felt limited in my options as a guest and concerned about potential repercussions for questioning their policies. Despite reiterating my request for a full refund, their final offer was a 35% refund and a 55% credit.
I accepted the refund, but was then surprised to be told it was contingent upon deleting my review. This was an unexpected request and left me disheartened. My overall experience with their customer service was unlike any I have encountered before in hospitality. While I hope others have positive stays, my experience has left me apprehensive about how issues are managed. I do not feel confident that guests with negative experiences will be treated with empathy or respect.

My recent stay at Kompose wasn't great, but I'm hoping my feedback can help them improve. Just a heads-up, they have a $200 hold policy that caught me off guard. I tried to cancel when I found out, but they have a strict no-refund policy, so I had to stay or I'd lose my money.
The first room I stayed in was decent but had a hostel vibe to it. There was no water pressure and you have to be careful not to slip on the floor as there's no guard or barrier to keep the water inside the shower area.
The amenities were disappointing compared to similarly priced accommodations. Basic items like a shower cap were priced at $7, and a Lean Cuisine cost over $10 (which you learn only at check out as the prices aren't listed)
Additionally, the restaurant had limited opening days, and there aren't any nearby dining options, leaving guests with few alternatives. This ultimately left me feeling slightly taken advantage of given the food markup.
Additionally because I ended up needing to stay another night, I had to switch rooms, and upon check in I saw it wasn't cleaned properly. There were crumbs, hair, and stains on the sheets. They eventually sorted it out and even gave me a glass of wine, which was a nice touch.
But later on, unfortunately, I found a significant amount of hair clippings all over the bathroom floor. The front desk guy cleaned it up, which was nice of him, but it seemed like an odd job for him to do.
I've tried emailing customer service about these issues, but I haven't heard back from them after they stated they would follow up within 24-48 hours (which was on July 11th). Despite these hiccups, I hope this review will provide an opportunity to address my concerns and some overall improvements to their communication, customer service and...
Read moreReally wanted to like this place, looked super cute online. At first glance when you arrive, it's great. The rooms are sleek and modern and the overall style is quirky and fun. I enjoyed the location and how drive-able it was to local sightseeing.
As fun as the vibe tried to be, I am really, really disappointed in the hospitality of this place. I feel like we gave them multiple tries to get the service right but they did not succeed.
Room service is not available unless you ask for it AND have to pay an extra $9 for it. This is very unusual and turned out being unreliable. My travel partner and I went to the beach often and our bed got quite sandy. We wanted clean sheets halfway through our stay. We asked the front desk for our room to be made up when we were leaving to go out for the day and when we returned later in the afternoon, our room was not made up. We also informed the front desk of this disappointment upon our return and they said they were so sorry and didn't know what happened. Even though we saw someone write it down at the desk when we initially asked for it that morning. We ended up asking for a clean set of sheets and had to make the bed ourselves. I have never, ever had to make my own bed at a hotel. So bizarre.
The room also does not get fresh towels or toilet paper unless you ask. My travel partner was upstairs in our room sick as a dog one afternoon and we really needed more toilet paper. I went down to fetch some, and was received with push back. There was one woman at the front desk with a terrible attitude who told me they didn't have any. Any time I asked for something we needed, this woman always told me I needed to wait. Another person at the desk told me they didn't have any toilet paper available at all. It seemed that the night staff were overall more friendly than the day staff.
Upon checkout, the guy at the desk asked us how our stay was. We told him that it was decent, except how disappointed we were by the service. He apologized and said he would have someone reach out to me to discuss my experience. I heard from a Sales Rep, Rhonel, but initially missed his call. We played phone and email tag for a day or so until I gave up after multiple unanswered attempts to get a hold of him again. He never got back to me. Disappointing again. I would've hoped for some kind of opportunity to chat with someone about my experience.
This place would be a good spot for a quick stay overnight or two, but I wouldn't recommend staying longer as it felt like we had to pull teeth for certain necessities.
PROS: Beds were comfortable RIGHT next to Sarasota airport
CONS: No room service unless you ask for it (and have to pay extra for it). Lack of privacy in your own room if you are traveling with others. If you want to use the toilet, there is basically no privacy (only a frosted glass barn door, no fan). Your travel companion will hear everything. Open shelving in room seemed fun but it just makes the room feel more...
