Peach's Restaurant - University — Restaurant in Sarasota

This restaurant seems to use the lowest quality ingredients. My family said the smoked sausage tasted like it was made by Oscar Mayer and that they could have had better sausage patties from McDonald’s. My daughter felt her sausage skillet was “painfully mediocre.” My husband ordered the number two meal. He never received his grits, but he was so disgusted by how the kitchen sent out sausage that was horribly burnt on one side (see pics) that he wanted nothing more from this place. It seemed as though they tried to cover up the offense by sending out the sausages non-burnt side up. He brought it to the server’s attention and made it clear that we didn’t want it taken off our bill or any more food, he just wanted the kitchen to know that sending out food of that caliber is unacceptable. The server said she told her manager. We’re not ones to complain often at restaurants, but in the very few times we have, a manager has ALWAYS come to the table. This did not happen which let us know this establishment does not value our patronage. Even with all the mishaps, I would have given more stars, but the manager’s lack of customer service gave me no choice. Manager, server, and kitchen staff all need re-training. We’ve never been to a Peach’s that...

Peach’s was ok, in my opinion. The food was definitely portioned well. My husband had corned beef and blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were HUGE!! I had grits with chicken fried steak. He really enjoyed his meal. Mine was - well… I didn’t eat it. The grits were cold, not seasoned at all. I sent them back to be heated but it was just a weird, gritty taste. I love grits and can be a bit tough when I eat them in a restaurant. The steak was ok in flavor but it was chewy. I’m not a big egg eater but the eggs were ok - as far as eggs go.

So - 4 stars and not 3 because my husband really enjoyed his food and because the service was really good.

Our waitress was super nice and the other waitresses were helpful and always asked if we needed anything. I like to see teams working together in restaurants.

The prices were very reasonable and the service was quick so I didn’t want to rate under a 4. It could totally be my pickiness. I posted the menu and some photos of our food to share.

Was looking for a nice breakfast and was staying by here. So I decided to give it a try based on reviews and prices. Ordered the big breakfast with ham, home fries, pancakes, and eggs. Ordered my eggs over medium came back extremely runny with uncooked white by the yolk. So I said something she brings back more eggs practically the same completely runny yolk. At this point I was almost done with everything else and told them I don't want the eggs. So she took them off my bill as I told her your cooks must not know what over medium is as it should be slightly hard yolk she said I know. Everything else was tasty and the price was right but minus one star for bringing out the wrong eggs twice. There was a wait to be seated but once I sat down server was over in less then 5 minutes and food was out less then 10 after ordering considering how busy they seem to get on Sunday morning that's quick. I'd only take off half a star if possible much like some places would get a zero...
