my fav seafood spot

If you love good seafood, definitely visit David's Crab House! When we visited Savannah in September, we made sure this was our first meal -- my husband's research said this was by far one of the top local favorites. There's no seating -- you order (in our case we ordered ahead online), get your food, and take it to your car/hotel/home/park bench/etc. to eat. If you get their famous garlic crab, I wouldn't recommend eating it in your car -- it's dripping with their delicious garlic sauce. The cost per person for us was a little high because we ordered enough for at least four people since we wanted to make sure to try all the items that caught our attention. We enjoyed a banquet of: 1 lb. of garlic snow crab, two deviled crabs, crab rice, conch (never had it and jumped at the opportunity), seafood salad, and one garlic egg (just to try it). ALL of it was absolutely delicious! By the end of the amazing meal both our hands and forearms were covered in garlic sauce from the luscious snow crab and there was a mountain of used napkins beside us. The conch was really tasty, their deviled crab ended up being our favorite version from our entire trip, the crab rice and seafood salad were great, and the garlic egg was a revelation (pretty sure it had a bit of their yummy vinegar based Alyee hot sauce on it). This is now on our "must go back" list of restaurants.

After arriving in Savannah, GA for our determined search for seafood, we landed on David's Crab House from a random google search. The place had good ratings, so we went with it. The location is not far from downtown Savannah and close to historic Forsyth Park. The spot is a carry out joint that is limited on parking so you have to get in where you fit in. Entering I was greeted by Mr Dave himself, a nice polite man who grew up in the area. I had questions and he more than delivered with answers by allowing the sampling of the famous lowcountry boil. The samples were pretty good so decided to go big and get double orders of the lowcountry boil with garlic sauce. The plates were full and attractive, but our tastebuds were filled with an overwhelming salt flavor. Also some of the seafood wasnt fresh, snowcrab legs mainly. I would recommend still going here just off customer service along. And plus just my opinion, go support David's Crab House if your in the area.

So my mother tells me she wants a fish plate. So I google this place and see they have a website and online ordering. I had to past on the way dropping off my worker and needed to past it coming back home. So I place a order. When i get there i didn't like the fact that they ask for my driver's license and credit card that I use to place the order than began to copy information off of them. Total violation of consumer safety because anyone can get that information because they leave it sitting in the open. Next they give me my food I open it up and say this doesn't look like the picture. I thought you get to pieces of fish she said no you order one and it said that so I open the site and it dosen't say but at the very bottom you can choose a quantity. She then said it's a really big piece of fish I said well my dosen't look like that. She chuckles and looks down the girl next to me said it didn't look like the picture. So the girl calls the girl in charge an I explain the situation to her and ask can she meet me halfway and try to make the situation right. She tells me no that's what I order. So after giving me this miserable piece of fish no customer service at all she then begans to ask me for my drivers license and credit card again. Really, I tell her no then leave the store. I bring it to my mother and she said it wasn't season well and wasn't what she was expecting. Especially when you have been waiting and had your mouth set on something then you get that. It would have been worth it for me to go the extra 10 mins to one of the other fish places because I would've gotten better customer service, more food 2 pieces of fish, fries, shrimp, and hush puppies for the same price. If this isn't fish and bait I dont know what is. False advertising and poor customer service I really wanted my money back but I didn't think I could make it to another place in time to bring my mother the food. So to people reading this I'm not going to tell you what to do but you see...

The garlic crabs-crab legs-shrimp here are really good but my rating is based on two separate interactions with the owner. He was unprofessional and overstepped. When I come in I want to be treated with courtesy and respect each time. Never had a problem with any other employee besides him. I use to live in Savannah and often come back for work. I make it my business to come here each time but after the second encounter with the owner, I’m rethinking that. Don’t attempt to make me look “silly” for paying with my phone then asking for a receipt for a $40+ purchase. When I said I needed it for work the response was “use your own paper”. What a “silly” and unprofessional thing to say to a customer. When I’m in your place of business, spending money, I don’t need an unsolicited lecture about what you do for the community and that’s why I should patronize any other Crab House in Savannah. Its my prerogative to do business wherever I please. I am REALLY big on customer service and just because you have a good product that does not mean that...
