Kim's Cafe' at 714 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd B in Savannah, GA, came highly recommended by a local, and it exceeded all expectations. The vibrant and lively atmosphere, adorned with beautiful murals and artwork, reflects the rich tapestry of African culture.
I opted for the Breakfast Platter with 2 eggs, over-easy, sausage patties, hash browns, and toast – a nostalgic taste reminiscent of my mom's cooking. Cooked to perfection, it was a delightful start to the day. The BBQ Ribs Platter was a feast for the senses, featuring succulent ribs, mashed potatoes, broccoli, peas, and cornbread. A combination that's hard to resist and even harder to find fault with.
Despite a busy service time, the staff at Kim's Cafe' remained remarkably attentive. Always ready to answer questions, yet discreet when not needed, creating a pleasant dining experience.
Overall, Kim's Cafe' left a lasting impression, not just for its delicious offerings but for the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend taking a detour to this gem in Savannah. Allow some extra time, strike up a conversation with fellow diners, and enjoy the company of the genuinely nice people who will make the visit even more memorable. A culinary and cultural delight in the heart...
Read moreAw man I really hate to do it. Me and my sister drove a hour to come try this spot early this Sunday morning. When we first arrived I felt great vibes. Loved the restaurant setup! The menu has great options. I end up ordering the lamb chops with hashbrowns and scrambled eggs with a side of French toast. My sister ordered the fish & grits with scrambled eggs, toast. First look at the food, presentation was NOT it! Our eggs were super cold to touch and smelled like fish. (Fish wasn’t even out yet) my hashbrowns looked like a block of mashed potato crust. Lamp chops tasted wild. Grits were Not cooked throughout and thicker then the fog outside this morning. My French toast had more powder sugar than bread and it wasn’t cook throughout, I could taste the egg batter still wet. Fish was fried in old grease. You couldn’t tell me it wasn’t a captain Ds fish refried. The waitress was nice she asked how was the food and we told her the truth, NOT GOOD. We did not eat it and STILL Paid. The staff was very nonchalant and that was very alarming to me. No apology...
Read moreWent by there this past Sunday 10/13 because me and the wife wanted some soul food and really didn't feel like riding to Geneva's. I ordered the Managers Special which cost 30 dollars and my wife ordered the smothered pork chops, including a few desserts and a large lemonade the meal was around 70 dollars. We waited about 45 minutes on our food which I didn't mind. The shock and disgust came when we got home and opened the plates. I could instantly smell the old grease that my fish and shrimp were cooked in. They were also very dark, old, and dry. You can tell the seafood had been sitting up since earlier that morning. The batter was also soft and falling off the fish and the greens tasted like they came out of a can.The yams were overcooked... more like a soufflé. My wife's meal was suppose to come with 2 pork chops and she only received 1. The peach cobbler was RAW (no exaggeration) she literally had to transfer it to an oven safe dish and cook it. This was by far the worst meal I've had in a while. PLAIN OLD SLOP!! I should've went...
