This restaurant experience was fairly unique. In summary can be described as lots of rules and no mercy. Dining here was truly an exercise in comprehending the rules and numbers before ordering and tasting the food. Although not written in the menu nor signage, the restaurant obligates each 1x diner / guest at the table to fulfill orders of 1x rice + 1x salad + 1x dip sauce regardless of each individual's dietary preference. This requirement may be fulfilled partly or completely by the rice / salad / sauce that comes as part of an entree soup or BBQ combo ordered by each guest. However, if the entree combo comes with only rice and not salad, then that particular guest still has to fulfill their obligation for the salad and dipping sauce via additional charge. Then, regardless of the number of guests seated at the table, each table receives 5x plates of banchan + 2x plates of banchan refills complimentary (7 plates total). Table of 2 gets the same allowance as table of 6. Additional banchan refills needed for a large party were charged a la carte. Being charged for banchan was a first time experience for myself at a Korean restaurant in North America (East coast, Midwest, West coast, and Canada). After placing our order and receiving our food, we appreciated that the meats in the BBQ combos were seasoned evenly. The beef was prime cut per restaurant and the galbi (beef ribs) were bone in. The stone bowl soups were served hot. Service gratuity is 20% on your total bill. Due to 1 wait staff serving about 4 tables, it was difficult getting refills on water.

NOT what it used to before covid It was our go to Korea BBQ restaurant before covid while the service was always slow but at least their food was awesome and kimchi was homemade and best we ever had....But that is no longer the case! During and now after covid, They probably are now three person restaurant. I assume the dad is in the kitchen, the mom cashier and phone and the daughter host and server We dined one during covid once and once after...OMG! Upon seated the server told us all entries are $1.00 more well we get it save money no new menu while everything is up so we understand but the funny thing is, after we r seated, another table is seated next table, the same server told that group all entries are now $4 more LOL All meat are much less while price gone up. No more refill small plate, we were charged for everything! Yes even got charged for refilling small plate!!! Service was SLOW since now only the daughter wait on ALL tables. She seated us, took our order, gave us food...So total of three times. We had to serve ourselves and flag her down a few time to get tea, water and refills lol Also had to flag her down to get check and box Once bill came, 20% added but remember we served ourselves and she came waited us three time lol We all understand during covid19, all restaurant suffered but come on....No more covid now....!

I've dined hundreds of Korean restaurants. I used to think it's very beneficial if the waitress speaks English, but here she can speak English but with hell of attitude. No welcoming, no greeting nothing. Not even offering a water. We pressed the button to call the waitress couple times in a row since she was taking so long to come in, she responded pls don't press that button I can already see your number. Duhh, if you can still see the number pls don't let the customer wait. We kindly asked if the place was all you can eat but her anwer was no we are not buffet, all of our meats are certified which all of the restaurants serve certified meats. She kind of insulting us like we are not the place like buffeish. We ordered combo B which costs $78.99 poorly portioned. I have never saw rice cake costs $20 in my dining experience at Korean restaurants. Side dishes, lettuces are fundamentals in korean bbq culture but how come this place trying to charge it?? We asked slices of garlic the answer was we gonna charge for it, im really surprised. We here spending over $100 dollars but can't you give away one clove of garlic sliced??! Everything we asked for she would answer with price tag. Super greedy! Its just not definitely worth for $146 Pls give attention for feedbacks that your customers are giving back to you and improve your business.

Confusing and disappointing first time experience; won’t plan to return. Younger waitress brusque to the point of rudeness. After a bit of wait along with four other parties in line, she comes up and says “Barbecue?” I asked for a regular table and she says “Then you have to order To Go”, turns around before I can respond, and leaves. The other parties are stunned just as we were, especially as they were all seated before us in line. Then she comes back and says to my spouse “Well, I explained to her if no BBQ then To Go” and I’m literally standing there. So we accept “BBQ” status and she says to push the button at the table when we’re ready to order. We had been waiting and we told her that actually we’re ready to order (wanting to save everyone’s time), but she said we need to sit down, press the button, then we can order. So we ridiculously did exactly that. Apparently we were still in the wrong, because she then proceeded to exasperatingly and tersely explain that since we were a party of 3 (one toddler btw), we had to order a minimum amount of items, and that 3 bowls of rice cost is mandatory. All explained as if we were a huge stupid annoyance. At this point I was ready to leave.

Then, a sweet older waitress (apparently her mom) took over the service, and despite being just as busy was absolutely NORMAL and pleasant. I found a rubber band in my ice water and she was extremely apologetic. OK.

The food tasted authentic. Pretty sure the chef himself brought the stew to the table, which was nicely presented and had good flavor. However, as consistent with many of the reviews here, it was super pricey. Over $130 for 2 adults and 1 toddler, due to the mandatory order policy (which was not transparent, and not explained well). For that amount, I can take my family to a comparable Korean restaurant back home for at 3-4 dinners.

So basically if you aren’t staying to spend a lot of money on their terms, they won’t accept you as a customer.

I would ditch the table doorbells and encourage more human contact. I would clearly practice explaining minimum order in a service-friendly manner and really consider being lenient for human guests younger than 5 years old, who aren’t going to consume an entire meat order’s amount of food. Pricing could be restructured so that guests understand what is or isn’t included and reduce time that the waitress has to explain. Spending just a few more seconds at a table rather than zooming around would increase customer satisfaction and actually lead to more orders and more money.

The younger waitress seemed to mellow out a bit later. I wish all of the family well; obviously they are working very hard, but the overall experience was totally unpleasant and unsalvageable. Korean food should be happy and comforting. I gave more stars on this review due to the kindness of our...

If I can give them a zero or a negative star for the rating, I will provide them with it.

I went to this BBQ restaurant with my family on Tuesday, February 07. Initially, we tried to go to the Sogongtong Tobu house. Unfortunately, the Tobu house was closed that day, so we tried to find an alternative restaurant. Since my son loves to eat Korean galbi, we went to this restaurant based on the rating.

We ordered the Combo B menu, which consisted of four different types of meat; however, the food had an average taste, but the amount was way too small.

The waitress (I don't know whether she is the owner's relative or just a waitress) is very unprofessional and not friendly at all. Also, we are Korean-American, and we're native Korean speakers. She knew we could speak Korean, but she spoke English, so we responded that way. Our next table customer was a middle-aged two Korean gentleman they were speaking Korean, and she spoke the Korean language. That was very awkward, so we tried to Korean, and then she reluctantly answered the question but was rude and not polite at all.

I even cooked our food, which I'm good at, but I asked her when she came to our table, "Isn't it supposed to be cooked by you instead of a customer?" Then she immediately answered, "We are not in a Hibachi restaurant, and we don't cook for the customer." What kind of Korean BBQ restore are they? They are so snobbish.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm a Korean-American, and I knew the Korean restaurant very well and had significant experience. Still, I had never had this kind of bad experience in my entire life.

The experience was terrible. I don't care how good the food is. I will take my business elsewhere if the expertise and service are insufficient. We had two adults and one kid, and she forced us to purchase any dishes. I'm sorry, but that's just wrong. My son is just a kid who can't eat a full dish alone. It's just an odd rule. We also asked for more side dishes, and the waitress said they would charge for extra side dishes, so we gave up asking. I don't mind paying for a proper service, and I'm not short on money to provide decent food for my family and what they want to eat.

Go to any Korean restaurant, and they will refill those side dishes all day long. Lastly, the price was too much. We never go to that restaurant again, no matter how they change or improve later. We WON'T be back.

92Town, if you want to run your business long, please take a class on customer service.

If anyone has a cold experience with high prices, you can feel...

This Korean restaurant has been my go-to place for the past 10 years. The food has always been amazing, and the owners have been friendly and have become good friends over the years. I remember coming here alone in the past, but now I come with my family. My kids absolutely love the bulgogi BBQ. However, since they hired a new waitress, the experience has changed for the worse. She is very rude.

During our recent visit, she seated us at a small table, and when I requested to be moved to a larger table due to concerns for my kids' safety, she claimed that all the tables were reserved. It turned out that this was not the case. Moreover, when I mentioned that we couldn't sit there because table is too small and we bbq it's not safe for the kids then she told us she can't sit us where we usually seat due to my kids being messy and asked us just to leave, her response was mean-spirited. I was furious. When I tried to discuss the issue with the owner, she prevented me from speaking to him and asked us to leave the premises. And she said she can do that because she is the "general manager" ahhmm, you're the only server there and also she lied in front of me and told the owner that I didn't mention about doing bbq instead we're dine in only.

My husband and I have noticed that each time we eat there, we receive the same treatment. However, because I have a personal relationship with the owner and I genuinely love the food, we have always let it go in the past. But today, the waitress went too far by berating us about our kids being messy and kicking us out and...
