Update: Thank you Schaumburg and Illinois DOT for screwing up the Meacham Exit completely. I appreciate being run all over hell and half of Illinois to get into this place now. Only option now drivers is from I290 and follow signs for Il 53. You'll run on frontage roads, and crossroads to get over here now. Meacham road is only accessible now traveling I90W. But you can't get to it from I290, because of how they have reworked the I290 ramp alongside I90W. You merge on after passing under Meacham road. And they completely eliminated the on and off ramps on I90 east to Meacham. Joy oh joys. I had to follow Il 72 west to Meacham (north), then to Tower road west, to Wiley Road.
GPS ALERT!!! TAKE I-90 WEST to exit 67, North Meacham road. Turn left at the light, stay in right-hand lane. Cross over I-90, then turn right on Tower road, take your immediate right on to Wiley. Ignore the weight violations on your gps. Gonnella is about 1/2 a mile down on your left. If you are trying to get here from I290, you get run pillar to post... The docks can be congested. The folks here are nice. Leaving Gonnella, turn left out of their drive. This is Wiley, stay on it, it turns in to commerce. Follow to Roselle road. Turn Right to get back to 90 in both directions. If you turn right out of Gonnella, and go back to Meacham. I-90 west will be to the left. There is NO on...
Read moreWhen you pull in you will see a sign stating to check in at phone booth. (What if Superman needs it?😳😂) I absolutely hated the speaker box though. It was really difficult to understand what the voice was asking for, crackly, staticky, and trucks rolling by. Yikes. Other than that good experience here. Appointment was for 0730. Arrived at 0649, departed 0915. Had a short wait for a door (they call you). The docks near the entrance are pretty tight (other trucks lined up and parked) but I was lucky to get one of the doors in the back. There is a little more room back there. Last night I stayed at a truck stop in Gary, Ind I 80/I 94 X 6. Paid for reserved parking because I needed an end spot for my dog stairs. There were open spots when I came in...
Read moreEasy to find right off the freeway. There’s not a lot of parking, but there are a couple of spaces. I got here an hour early and they put me directly in the door and started unloading me within 15 minutes. I came on a Saturday so the traffic wasn’t bad getting in or out. A little slow unloading considering I was the only truck here. I was pretty nervous about it being in Chicago and because I’ve heard the parking was tight and I can see that it would be if this place was full. But like I said on Saturday, it was quiet and I had all the room. Overall not a...
