Should have read the reviews of this place before my family and I went to dine here. The guy at the register, glasses and bald, was discriminative of my special needs sister soon as we walked in. My sister isn't able to eat regular food or drinks due to her tracheostomy that she has had all her life, she only has pediasure that she is able to consume through her mouth. My family contains of 6 people who can eat, a baby, and my sister. We paid $94.94 for just 6 of us. But when I had explained to the man about my sister and how she doesn't eat, he insisted we paid for her too (every other restaurant we've been to so far never charges us for her part). It took 10 minutes to just try to explain there shouldn't be a charge for her if she can't even consume their food, and in the end he was angered and told us that it would be the first and last time he ever wanted to see us in his restaurant. He also threatened that if he saw her even touch food he would charge us and kick us out. He allowed my family to come in, and my uncle and aunt had also accompanied us. They charged my special needs baby cousin her part of their bill even though she also can't chew on food properly. We sat down and went to get plates and there was very limited options of food that wasn't fresh either. The only good part of the experience was our waiter, a Mexican who was really nice towards us so props to him. Their food was cold, dry, not flavored, and overall seemed like leftovers. they have hardly any dessert options and the guy from the register would continuously watch us and walk by sending judging looks at my sister and my cousin. He also yelled at these small kids who were also colored and he told them to stop grabbing a lot of food (they both had only a pizza slice and orange slices) and he even tried to take their plates away. My younger sister, my mom, and some of my other family felt a bit sick after eating and currently my mom is not feeling well after coming home. My family won't be going back because it was horrible and because the man even told us never to go back. Props to our...
Read moreMy whole family has been going here for many (20+) years. My wife and I still go once a week for lunch. We have seen changes over the years, some cutbacks in the offerings (like crab legs and soft serve ice cream) which I assume have been done in an attempt to keep prices reasonable during inflationary times. We typically go during busy times and have always had hot, fresh food. If you go close to closing time, as with nearly ANY Chinese Buffet, they don’t always refill food even if an item is empty, but they gladly will bring out some fresh food if you request a particular item you want. To keep prices low, they have to avoid throwing out large quantities of food at the end of the day and YOU SHOULD EXPECT THAT if you enter a buffet at the end of their business day.
The food quality and taste is pretty good for a Chinese Buffet; it’s not going to be like ordering fresh food off of a menu that’s made just for you, but it’s definitely edible! Sometimes the vegetables in dishes (like Chicken with Broccoli) are not fully cooked to a soft texture. I like them that way, but some do not. Again, it’s a buffet and they have to take in consideration of food sitting on a steam table which will continue to cook (If put out on a steam table when already soft, the food would very quickly become mush).
This restaurant is MUCH cleaner than most Asian restaurants I’ve visited; especially the bathrooms. (I hope they continue to keep that up!). I also know someone who works there and have been told “the kitchen is spotless”.
I do recommend this restaurant if hungry and searching out a...
Read moreAfter reading dozens of reviews on this place I decided to give it a try.
After 15 minutes I concluded that every negative review was accurate.
I paid $14.55 for an adult lunch, drink was included.
There are 6 buffet sections, one of which was just for the cold bar, but frankly everything was cold.
The warmest thing to get was the sweet and sour sauce. The chicken orange chicken is chewy and below room temperature, the fried rice was cold, and the mushrooms had a cold interior and lukewarm exterior.
I'm sure the soups were hot, but they just looked incredibly crusty and old that I didn't want to risk it.
There were only two good things I tried: the butterfly shrimp and the Orange Crush.
The shrimp tasted like the frozen stuff I get at Costco, and was actually crispy. The orange soda? It's soda fountain soda, it tasted the way it should.
I expected to pay maybe $10-$12 for a weekday lunch, and that would've made this a 2-Star review. But for nearly $15.00, you are 100% better off going to Panda Express.
I tried 2 plates worth of food in 15 minutes and decided it was enough. There was so little substance and quality between both places, I actually left still hungry. I typically like to go places at least twice to give it a chance, but I can't imagine this...
