To start off, Jalapenos has always had really good food. Tastes great, hot and fresh. Weirdly enough, they might have the best french fries in the entire region, despite being a Mexican place. However, as their prices go up, their service is failing. They changed their menu and oddly removed a la carte items. My wife always ordered the same thing - two steak tacos. We went this weekend and the server refused to sell her two steak tacos. The waitress insisted that the only way to get tacos was by ordering the three taco dinner, and forced her to order a side, which is how we got to the french fries I mentioned above. My wife's margarita also came out unfrozen, just mix and tequila.
This leads us to the next problem - the server basically disappeared / ignored us the whole time we were there. Never got a water refill, never came to bus any of the dirty dishes. My wife just ended up drinking her warm margarita because nobody ever came back to see if anything needed attention. We sat there with completely empty dirty dishes until we flagged her down for the check, and even then the dirty plates sat there until we left.
To add insult to injury, they now add a mandatory 18% tip to all checks. I was going to tip 12% because of the horrible service. But the 18% gratuity was already on there when the check came. Maybe that's why the waitress put absolutely zero effort into anything, she knew she would get paid regardless. I wasn't going to argue over a few bucks, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. We probably won't go back...
Read moreWent here for the first time on Friday with my hubby for his bday and the food was okish ...but I'm telling you right now my husband and I absolutely don't like you need to pay extra just for a 🔥 salsa and I personally don't like the hard chairs and booths they have you sit on are highly uncomfortable! Don't like that they keep asking repeatedly if you want to buy a drink from the bar. 🍻 🍹🍸🍷 Not everyone drinks liquor ok..? I am sure if we wanted drinks we would have just ordered it with our entrees. Plus the $9.00 charge added to my bill (I guess,🤷🏾♀️ just in case ppl don't tip the wait staff right?) blows my mind that afterwards you still ask for more tip money?! 🤯 ... I see why it took me over two years to come here and I should have just kept passing it by like I did all the other times 😔
🤔We also never ever been to a restaurant that charges extra money 💰just for the hotter 🔥salsa, that's pretty outrageous, who does that?👎🏻 (Tbh husband ate half the food before it was even brought out to the table) 👎🏾it's the uncomfortable sitting for me👎🏾 and the added $9.bucks on my bill 👎🏻put a very bad taste in my mouth 👄 In my opinion the bill definitely didn't reflect the service or food provided😕
We're not coming back here!🙅🏻♂️🙅🏽♀️👎🏾👎🏼
....We rather go to Emilio's for better food, service and...
Read moreMy family and I have come to this restaurant for years but never again! I called in to place a pick up order and the girl who answered immediately said “can you call back I’m in the bathroom”. This is so unprofessional on so many levels. I call back 15 minutes later and the same girl answered, I begin to place my order but had questions about a menu item. Her response to everything I asked was “no you have to pay for it” or “no you can’t” very rudely. I go in to pick up my order and had to wait because there was no one at the front door, after she comes up she gave me my total and rudely took my card from me. She handed me my food and placed my card on the counter. I asked for a receipt and she said “I sent it to your phone”, wait what??? She didn’t even ask how I wanted my receipt. I stated I want a printed one and left. I called to speak to the manager who was Carlos and he just stated he would talk to her without even asking the girls name, which is Gio V. I doubt anything gets done or he even mentions it to her. The customer service has completely gone down at this place and it seems like they don’t care. I’m not sure if I was given rude service because I am a POC or because they have nothing but young workers there now who...
