TLDR: Great food, excellent service, clean environment, lots of sports to watch, good environment, a variety of alcohol on tap, and decent prices. Worth your money to stop.
Details: I had the salad explosion - one of their specialty salads. There was a great amount of food to go with it, including a good amount of chicken, a quesadilla, and a well-prepared salad with very yummy dressing that had a little spicy kick to it. I normally don't eat salads, but I tried that one, and it was delicious. Others in my party had their potato soup, burger (I don't recall which one), and shrimp tacos. All of those in my party looked their food. I will probably try their shrimp tacos next time... Looked and smelled great!
Prices were very fair, I think. My salad was. $11 - I don't recall the others' bills specifics, but they were all near that amount or less expensive. Especially for the amount of food in our meals, I thought it was well worth the cost alone, not to mention the atmosphere/etc.
Our server was a restaurant veteran and trainer of other servers - she was awesome! She was very personable, nailed the orders, kept our drinks filled, helped with anything we needed; she was very good. She was also attentive to our time, and didn't try to push us out after we finished our meal, as we chatted for a little bit after eating. We couldn't have asked for a better waitress!
There were probably a dozen or so large TVs between the bar and dining areas, playing different games. TVs were good quality, the channel/sport variety was good, and there's not much else to say about that.
The music/general nose in the bar was a good balance - we could hear each other just fine, but couldn't hear other table's conversation unless we wanted to. The restaurant was clean (including the bathroom), so I felt more confident in the cleanliness of the kitchen, and hugging of the employees. I just wish they secured the both tables down - our party kept scooting it around accidentally.
I don't drink alcohol, so I cannot comment on the quality/proving/etc. If the alcohol on tap; but there seemed to be a decent variety of choices (including fruity drinks, beers, etc.). Nobody at our table was disappointed by the alcohol menu.
All in all, I wouldn't mind stopping again, if I wanted a chain restaurant experience. This one seems to be managed well, and we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time visiting this location and it will be my last. I regularly visit the Chili's location closer to home and the food is always quick and tasty, with great service. I applaud the service staff for doing everything to deliver a great experience and make things right, but not one thing about the food was right. Starting off my drink was watered down or just not made right. The strawberry lemonade is my go to drink for a reason and this location did not meet standards. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer, the queso was disappointing to say the least. Watery... flavor was off, and I make these comments in comparison to other Chili's so I know this restaurant is capable of better. The entrees, from whe we placed our order to when we received it after repeatedly following up with staff, took over an hour and fifteen minutes to be completed. If we had a big group or complex order I would understand, but I was watching tables around us with similar two person orders that were seated after us, have their order complete before us. Our server who I won't reveal her name, was there trying to make everything right for us and was checking on our order regularly, in addition to apologizing informed us this is a regular occurrence and even stated she has considered transferring to a different location. For an employee to feel that frustrated and disenfranchised is really sad to see. At no point was a manager sent out to follow up with us, not that we asked for one, but if one server could be trying to make up for such a mishandling back of house there is something wrong with management. While I understand, it looked like a busy night, whoever was in charge of the kitchen the night of April 8th needs to get a better handle on their team. By the time the food was ready we were running late for our previous engagements so asked for it to go, and most of our order was comped before we even asked so we couldn't really complain but if management is keeping an eye on this, I would recommend you look at your staff because it sounds like you may have some problem...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually avoid writing about large, chain restaurants, but I'm writing this one because I think I'm done with Chilis. Not because my experience here was particularly bad, it's because this one put me over the top with two major annoyances. But let me get the positive side of this review out of the way. The food was good (as you'd expect from Chili's) and our waiter was friendly. Drinks were served in short order, none of us were left dry. Now for the annoyances. First, I'm not sure if upper level management (corporate) pushes the practice of servers memorizing orders, but I really do NOT like it when the wait staff doesn't jot down what I just told them. It seems like I see this in Chili's and Applebees restaurants a lot. Sure I suppose it's impressive that the individual has a great short-term memory, but in a restaurant setting this practice needs to go away. I don't care if the person is really good at this, all it does is create anxiety. Memorizing an order doesn't earn you greater tips. The customer is there to relax, eat/drink and not worry whether or not the order was entered correctly. In this case my order came out with the wrong side. I politely told my waiter, but I did not send it back. I hate the thought of wasted food. Of course it's also possible the waiter did enter the order correctly and the kitchen messed it up. I would be less upset if I knew this was the case. I would be more likely to believe this if the order was written down. The moral of this first annoyance is the order should be written, or at least act like it's being written down. Creating anxiety is bad. The second annoyance is Chili's insistence to use the stupid Ziosk devices. We absolutely hate these things and either place them on an empty seat or turn them around so we don't see the screen. The only thing they're good for is to pay the bill when the waiter hasn't been around to flag down to get the check. And yes, that's how we...
