Melanie's Cafe — Restaurant in Schertz

I live down the street and I want Melanies to be my go to taco spot for the weekends or afternoon lunches. However, on multiple occasions via drive thru my order has been wrong or missing items (missing avacado which I was charged extra for, missing cheese, heck even missing a whole taco sometimes). I feel ive been more than fair and given them multiple opportunities, yet the same things keep happening. Today 7/25/19 was the last time I will give them business.. I ordered the Chicken Monterrey Plate and said no beans or rice. I waited in the drive thru line for 20 mins (there was nobody infront or behind me in line). I figured since it was taking so long that they were making everything fresh and taking their time to get everything correct... I get my order drive home and opend my togo box to see a piece of chicken with a piece of unmelted cheese and NOTHING else in the box.... The chicken Monterey is suppose to comes with tomato, bell peppers, onions, sliced avacado, side salad with guac... also the beans and rice which I didnt ask for. Literally a pice of chicken and unmelted cheese was in the togo box,,, lol. Keep in mind I was charged 9$.... thats what got me upset the most... okay even if they misunderstood and thought I said nothing but the chicken and cheese which I didnt,, still charging 9$ for that is insane... I took it back, went inside and asked for the manager... I showed her the togo box and she laughed shrugged her shoulders and said "oh, haha I can have them add some stuff to it..." There was no, oh im sorry sir that we messed up or oh our mistake let me take care of that..... I declined her offer of adding "stuff" to it and asked for a refund which she gave me..... Look I understand that its not the end of the world, I just cant stand bad customer service.. On top of my orders being wrong on occasion, the attitude of the manager today was the icing on the cake. I wont be back, I'll be going to Garcia's on 3009 for my tacos...

First time visiting upon neighbor recommendation, Moved from Cincinnati August. Place was small and could use better lighting and a thorough wipe down, walls, tables pictures etc. On the positive side the diner was packed, with to go orders as well as full dining room. I had Juevos Divorciado and added 2 breakfast tacos for $1.49 ea. I believe the breakfast was 7 or 8 bucks so not bad and I didn't finish half of one taco, so for about $11 I was good and I am decent eater. Wife opted for the Menudo, which is how we found place by asking who had best Menudo and the response was Melanie's. This is touchy, The menudo is served with ingredients plated on side, which, my wife was not a fan of as the flavors and aromas didn't have the chance to ferment, steep, or release as in a pot made at home and to be fair we all know the best Menudo is the one you make yourself....Having said that we understand the different tastes Melanie's has to account for and agree pleasing everyone would be difficult as well pre adding ingredients, spicier the better IMO but I digress.....extremely pleasant waitress, go getter,#hustlin. You provided excellent service and are appreciated!

Foist, let me start in the drive-thru at the order menu. Either the the microphone to the cashier is dire need of some repair or the woman taking my order was as deaf as a stump. I'm gonna give the employee the benefit of the doubt and chalk that 5 minutes of back and forth, misguided communication up to poor wire connections. After another 10 minutes I make it to the window ready to accept the 4 bean & cheese tacos, asada nachos and torta. Unfortunately, they had other plans. After waiting another 20 minutes I get the food, but that's not the end of this fiasco. Nope.....while I'm heading to the shack I try the nachos, bad idea, there aren't any jalapenos on the nachos or on the side and there is approximately 1/2 cup of chopped onions on the top of the nachos. I've had my share of tex-mex food as well as actual Mexican food in Mexico and never have i had onions even offered on nachos. Needless to say I think I'm giving this place too much air time as it is. Bottom line, I'm flexible but there's no chance in heck that I'll be returning to this place. This food is nasty.....and I don't mean nasty like Janet Jackson...oops, I mean Miss...
