This restaurant is not interested in serving in person customers. I sat in a completely empty restaurant waiting for 20 minutes until they decided to start preparing my sashimi lunch special. They took out a plastic container, took pre cut fish from the container (my sashimi) placed it on a plate, placed some rice and garnishes next to it and handed it to me. Not sure why they had to wait 20 minutes to do this. Maybe they just forgot about a solo woman diner. Still hard to believe that the two of them (server and sushi chef) just chit chatted, for 20 minutes and didn't think that I maybe wanted to eat, perhaps they should serve me.
I can't imagine that the server would have ignored a man for that long, let them sit there hungry for 20 minutes till they took the pre cut fish out of a container and put them on a plate. Or maybe I misunderstood. Maybe they just were hoping I would take the hint and leave - since I was getting in their way, interrupting their conversation and their day.
If they're not interested in serving people in their restaurant they should close the restaurant and just have it online only.
And if you're serving someone who orders a lunch special that doesn't need to be cooked or prepared in any way you have to tell them if you're planning on waiting 20 minutes to start their order. If I knew that I would have gone elsewhere.
Not so surprised that I was the only person eating there since serving in person customers is not their interest...
Read moreI have a fish allergy. And yet? This is one of my fav spots in Ann Arbor thanks to their selection of vegetarian sushi. Always fresh and perfectly prepared the staff is friendly, quick, and gets every order right. The three sushi rolls I always ate (we used to live across the street until moving back to the east coast a year ago) were the avocado roll, asparagus roll and the sweet potato tempura roll. The veggies were always fresh and generous. They also give a nice amount of both ginger and wasabi.
In addition to sushi they also have hot offerings. These are good but not to the same level as the sushi. The beef negamaki is probably the best. The chicken dishes are okay but the chicken seems like it comes pre-packaged rather than being cooked their. Think dining hall chicken.
For sushi, it's the...
Read moreThis is THE sushi spot in A2! They've been here for quite a long time and I'm so glad I finally gave them a chance!!! Friendly staff, quick service and a great selection of food! We started with crab Rangoon and they were the best I've had in my life. Crispy, creamy perfection. Next up was the spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail rolls...they did not disappoint. Absolutely fresh and a perfect texture. Dancing eel roll arrived at the table and was just a total treat. It covered all the bases...a little spicy, tangy, sweet, a little crunch, umami...highly recommended! Pork fried rice was an absolute treat. The flavor was unique, like it came off the perfect cook top and better than any fried rice you've ever tasted. Definitely check this spot out. Cannot wait for our next visit! Wish I'd have...
