The Sports Bar Westside — Restaurant in Scio Township

Updated Last Week: Myself and wife JC stopped in today and were once again blessed to be tended by Emma. We left feeling inspired to update our review to once again state how awesome Emma is and how much we appreciate her and any opportunity to go to Ann Arbor (we live in Milan, MI) and visit AA's coolest Sports bar and grill. The food and menu are fantastic, the service is super, the pours are generous and the patrons are always friendly. It seems like we make new friends and acquaintances with each visit. 👍👍👍👍 Myself and my wife have been here twice and – both this week. Twice this week kinda tells you something. We ate here Tuesday night and decided to come back for lunch today, Thursday. Both times we felt the experience was great. The bartenders were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the food very much. For the Tuesday night dinner we each got the special – the 2XL burger and fries. They were really great burgers, large and with all the fixins. we upgraded from Fry's to one order of onion rings and one order of tater tots each had two 16oz. IPAs and still got out of there for only 50 bucks plus tip.

Special shout out is an order for our bartenders (we sat at the bar both visits). Thursday evening we had the pleasure of being served by Alia -- and our very friendly bartender for this afternoon's stop-in was Emma. They both made us feel welcome and appreciated. I’ll start off with it’s convenient that you have to at least rate one star. On that note, by looking at the pictures below, can anyone guess which one is the double and which one is the single? Yes there is a double in one picture and a single in the other. Any guesses? I will give you a hint, one cost more than the other. But don’t complain! Don’t complain to your server thinking they will handle the situation. They only complain that you complained! Have you ever ordered a hot dish and got a cold plate instead? The Westside Sports Bar is not the place to complain, they don’t except complaints they think they’re perfect. If you complain, you just might find yourself banned and told to complain elsewhere just like we just have. It doesn’t matter that we patronized their establishment daily for nearly 5yrs. Guess we had one too many complaints. In my defense though, that’s what happens when your food is average bar food at its best, and their drinks are not as advertised. I will ensure everyone I know knows about this matter. I am filling out this critique so that those I don’t know, know the situation. I would not and will not recommend this place to anyone! If you want good food and awesome drinks, try the Knights Inn down the street. Best part they act on complaints instead of banning...

The waitress was sweet, but not very attentive. The burger we ordered medium rare was at least medium well, closer to well done. The waitress didn't offer to remake or discount it. Brought our check before we were done with our beers. After we cashed out, tried to get a beer from the bar but the bartender/owner refused saying that we had to order from our table...even though we were cashed out and the waitress hadn't been back in at least 15 minutes even though they weren't busy. The craft beer choices were very few. Definitely not welcoming, didn't care about good service or even ANY service. Can I say again.....the BARTENDER was very rude and wouldn't sell me a beer at the bar!!!! We are older adults and were more than willing to pay for a second beer. The food was less than mediocre and wasn't prepared correctly. Don't waste your money, go somewhere that wants...
