I am downgrading my review, but leaving the original below.
I really loved this place, but it ruined my weekend. It’s inaccessible. No way at all to walk there - four hours, one way, is too much to walk - so one can only hope to get there if someone who does cars will allow you to go.
I was told I could get food there two weeks prior and built up the anticipation in my mind for the hot cheese balls for the whole time. They gave me cheese curds and they were so blah.
I’ve often said it’s the best pizza in the area, but the pizza I ordered was screwed up. No pepperoni - ordered it and I grew up knowing pepperoni was standard - and drowning in sauce. The worst pizza I’ve had in at least a year.
I was extremely disappointed by my experience. The impact it left is stronger than the multiple positive experiences in the past.

Really, truly awesome! The hot cheese balls are excellent! The wings are excellent - great flavor and crispy without having to ask for that! Those two alone would make me want to come back, but there’s amazing pizza too. It’s hard not to order too much food, but when a place is this good and very hard to get to, it’s worth taking advantage of the opportunity to enjoy lots of food.
I’ve had takeout a few times and ate in for the first time today. It was great - what I would call an ideal restaurant setup: You order at the counter when you’re ready and there’s none of the crap of “I’ll give you time to look at the menu” and wasting time waiting to put in your order like at so many restaurants They bring you your food - and they bring each item when it’s ready and don’t let things sit around and get cold like some places do if the whole order isn’t ready You get you own soda and refills and don’t have to waste time waiting for a server to do something many of us are perfectly capable of You pay when you order and aren’t held hostage waiting for someone to bring your bill and then run your card Napkins and straws and utensils on the tables and no begging anyone for napkins.
It a very nice atmosphere. It’s clean and bright and modern. Lots of sunlight beaming in when I was there. The people have been very nice in my experiences.
I did 4/5 stars but would do 9/10 or 19/20 or 49/50. It’s truly great, but it is expensive, and they do two of those annoying things so many restaurants do: prices listed on the menu don’t include tax, and you have to beg to be sure you are not subject to any gross “served with” things on the menu. I’ve never had any problems and you CAN get the wings with the nasty green things in the picture, but I’d prefer not to have to worry about my order or pay for “served with” items I wouldn’t ever put near my mouth. All in all, given my concern are, sadly, common at many restaurants, this is one of best restaurants experiences I...
Read moreAs a pizza connoisseur allow me to elaborate on this new establishment
I walked in I was told I could sit anywhere About 15 minutes went by, no one took my order As I was getting ready to leave, the woman behind the counter said you can just order here I will take your order when you're ready I told her, I have been ready I've been waiting I was getting ready to leave actually because no one took my order
I ordered a medium plain pizza "LIGHTLY BAKED" I asked how long would it take, I was told approximately 15 minutes
About 25 minutes later I got my pizza
Now don't get me wrong the pizza had a nice wonderful taste However it was very hard to chew due to being overcooked The crust was extremely hard and whole underside of the pizza was BURNT
The atmosphere of this establishment was comfortable The service was Extremely SLOW
Someone from the kitchen came out serving food He asked me how the pizza was? I responded, I requested lightly baked it is not It is extremely hard to chew and the underside is burnt
He replied, I was told light on the sauce.... I told him, that's NOT what I stated in my order He was very pleasant and replied, that he would be more than happy to make me another Pizza as the way I ordered it
I told him no thank you
With all honesty I didn't want to spend another 25 minutes or so waiting for another Pizza I had other obligations to attend to
As I continued chewing on my, which was a task The lady who took my order came over and asked me how my pizza was
I replied it is not lightly baked, I told her what the gentleman had told me that it was ordered as light on the sauce She replied that's not what I wrote
Either way simple instructions here cannot be followed So if you place an order here I strongly suggest to make sure you tell them multiple times
Sure I'm willing to go back and give it another go Like I said the pizza had a very good taste to it I would prefer this time to get a pizza that I can enjoy that's easy to chew unlike the hard crust with the...
Read moreGreat pizza, but otherwise, I was not too impressed. First off, when you come in, you seat yourself but nobody will come to your table to take your order. You have to go up to the counter and order like in the old pizza parlors of days of yore, as few can remember those. It is a bit annoying if you want to come in and be served. They have a nice happy hour special, which is till 8 pm, but it is basically a buck off of select appetizers, and you have to buy two at a time. The appetizers are nothing to get excited about but simply basic bar fried items. There are no good bread items like you would find at Caliente, though they did have plain garlic toast, the kind you get with a pasta meal at someplace like Eat'n Park. What infuriated me was that they had no clue about beer. The happy hour special was for domestic drafts, and they only have about four: an IPA, something like Bud Light, Yingling, and Blue Moon. However, they don't consider Blue Moon a domestic beer despite it being a Coors product. Coors is out of Colorado. Perhaps they think Colorado is a province in Canada or something. We have been there a couple of times and found the pizza good except for once when we got the vegetarian pizza, which was soggy and not too pleasant to eat. The basic pizzas are very good, almost as good as Caliente. However, what I found I spent, I could get more bang for my buck by going local to Caliente. The atmosphere isn't bad but not great. A lot of local beer drinkers seem to go there, and the music is loud hip hop, but the place is clean otherwise. We went there more than once, only when Caliente was too crowded and short staffed. I live right up the hill from this place, but I am not too excited about the place to be a...
