Dining at Honest Restaurant in Decatur, GA was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we walked in, the experience was warm, authentic, and refreshingly different from the typical Indian dining scene. This isn’t just another run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant—Honest has carved out a distinct identity with a unique menu, bold flavors, and genuine hospitality that immediately sets it apart.
Let’s start with the food: absolutely phenomenal. The menu is centered around traditional Indian street food and regional specialties that you won’t easily find elsewhere, especially not with this level of quality. We ordered a variety of items to get the full experience, and every single dish impressed us.
The Pav Bhaji was rich, buttery, and deeply flavorful—clearly made fresh and served piping hot with pillowy-soft buns grilled to perfection. The Dabeli and Vada Pav brought a taste of Mumbai to Decatur, bursting with spice, texture, and that familiar street-style authenticity. The Bhel Puri was crisp, tangy, and incredibly refreshing. But what really blew us away were the Indo-Chinese dishes—the Manchurian, the Schezwan Fried Rice, and the Hakka Noodles were all exceptionally balanced in flavor, heat, and aroma.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist the Royal Falooda and Kulfi, and both were delightful—sweet, creamy, and beautifully presented. Each dish was generously portioned and fairly priced, a rarity in today’s dining landscape.
Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was impeccably clean and well-lit, with a casual yet modern decor that felt inviting. The staff was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to explain ingredients and spice levels and even checked on us multiple times without being intrusive.
You can tell that Honest takes its name seriously—everything from the food to the service to the ambiance feels rooted in integrity and quality. They’re not trying to be flashy or gimmicky; they just deliver solid, delicious food made with care. For vegetarians and lovers of Indian street cuisine, this place is a dream.
Whether you’re familiar with Indian food or trying it for the first time, Honest Restaurant is a must-visit in Decatur. It’s rare to find a place that combines authenticity, value, and great service so seamlessly. We will absolutely be back—and next time, we’re...
Read moreThis is one of the most famous Indian chains here in the US and a very good one in terms of food quality and service. I have tried in the New York and quite happy to find this restaurant here in metro Atlanta right next to Indian grocery stores.
Honestly this Honest is a disappointment. I have been here 3 times and all the 3 times they have had very ordinary customer service from the time you bill/ pay till you get your food. This is considering the level of care and attention that other Honest gave me and the level of customer service the neighboring restaurants (Chaatpatti, Gokul Sweets) offered me.
Coming on to food. We ordered a plate of Bhaji Pav, Cheese Pulao and one Masala Soda. Easily and undoubtedly the quality and taste of the food is outstanding. I am not denying that any cost.
Bhaji Pav: was good but not the best. The buns were sweet and had relatively less butter. The Bhaji was great with the butter topping.
Cheese Pulao: was the best of the lot I have tried here till date. Amazing Pulao with shredded cheese on top and super tasty!
Masala Soda: was as expected and definitely not worth that price.
The ambience has always been dense and crowded most of the days. A very busy restaurant. The service is just okay as mentioned before. Could be a lot better. If someone’s on the line waiting to place the order, I would attend that customer than attending who just barged into the line and start taking their order. That’s when respect and customer attention comes into play and this restaurant lacks the ability. Secondly running a big chain, I’m not sure the wait time to get your food takes so long at this place.
BOTTOMLINE: Just an usual chat place Indian restaurant. I would rather prefer going to it’s neighbor Chaatpatti than visit this place due to average customer service and long wait times to get your food. Food is great but not worth the wait for 20 minutes on weekdays to around an hour easily on a Weekend late noon time.

Read moreOmg! Where to start! I was originally going to go to Thali Vegetarian Restaurant but they were closed due to maintenance. I figured this was the next best thing in the area. I went in and needed some help finding a vegan option dish. The ladies were nice in assisting me. After I paid for my meal I sat with my daughter and waited for our food. It took about 25 minutes after we sat down to get the pav bhaji. There were 3 individual customers that ordered after me who got there meals before me. The Pav Bhaji seemed to taste good considering I have never had it before, but my daughter didn’t like it so I ordered her some fries. I decided to order a dessert, so I ordered the Gulab Jamun. It tasted pretty good, kind of like pancakes with syrup. After I ate I felt a little bloated which is unlike myself to feel. I figured it would go away by the time I got home. 30 minutes into being at home my stomach felt SO UPSET! I was constantly drinking water to make my upset stomach from what I just ate go away! Needless to say I am sitting here writing this 24 hours later STILL with an upset stomach!!! The only thing I have “eaten” in the past 24 hours is vegetable broth. I’m currently drinking Gatorade, Water and Gingerale! I just took my second dose of Pepto Bismol. I have not been able to leave the house since I ate at this place! I have been in the bathroom since I have gotten home yesterday! I am praying to the God’s to deliver me from this bacteria, food poisoning or parasite that is in my stomach from this food! If I knew they scored a 69/100 I would have never went here! Luckily my daughter is totally fine since she ate fries. The worst $20 meal of my life! If you see this place don WALK,...
