I went there yesterday to try newly opened Bawarchi restaurant in Patel Plaza. There is ample space for parking. Restaurant is on right corner of Plaza amd you see it from road. Not only I had the worst food and but also a bad customer experience. Two stars for 2 good things Restaurant was clean and 1st employee she took the order was new but she was doing good. I saw on blackboard Chef Specialties Chicken Seekh Kabob and told her that she checked from other employee(manager) who was behind counter and told her is not available. Then I asked her if chicken karai is boneless make that one. She checked from back kitchen and place the order. After that both employee went on side in family hall and sit there. Chef came out, served food and left. Chicken karai the one I always had before in all indian or Pakistani restaurant. But here it was something else. It looks like he made onion, tomato, green chillies masala and put chicken pieces which was already cooked in another chicken curry dish. It was watery and crazy spicy and it was not handle able but big problem was next 10-15 minutes there was no one on counter, who comes and check how is the food or do I need anything. After a long time Chef came from kitchen to talk to employee about another order. I requested him to give me something cos chicken karai is too spicy. He asked manager to give me raita and broght it. I can hear the voice of manager talking to other employee on family side but she didn't bother to come and say sorry about spicy food. Her attitude was not profesional and customer friendly at all time. When I was leaving after paying the bill there was no word of sorry or thank from her. Humble request to owner, you have best place, your menu is good, please focus on manager training, tell kitchen staff if something is not available or you dont know to cook just apologize to customer but dont make it worst. Read moreWent to get a to go order but had it converted to dine in. Just a few tips that the customers should look forward to before going. The tables in which you sit first after entering are the ones you will be using. you cannot move to another table if even if it is raining outside and you feel a chill of air Everytime someone enters the restaurant. The water offered to you WILL be at room temperature even if there is a refrigerator near the counter and there is water in them. Expect to get the cool water only if you remind them multiple times that you need cold water even if the restaurant is 1/4th filled. Ordered garlic chicken, chilli chicken, chicken fried rice and lollipop. The garlic chicken was really good, but the chilli chicken tasted more like salt with pieces of chicken in them. It may be different when you order it in person, but this was what served to us. But the chicken went good with the fried rice. The extra salt countered the saltless fried rice. It really sets a negative impression if you pick up an argument with another customer just because of a misunderstanding between you guys. Please note that the argument was not with us, but with a patron who came earlier. It was surprising that the customer had pointed out the misunderstanding, but went quite later on realizing that the owner/cashier would not try to understand his point of view. Customer is not always right, but the restaurant is also not always right. The way the restaurant is run could be tell by the way the waiter behaved. He was very understanding. Due to my previous experience with restaurants, I could realized the possible negative work environment.
The reason why it was not a total negative was because of the really good taste of garlic chicken and the chocolate dessert but most importantly, the patient nature of the staff. There were only two people in the floor including the...
Read moreI am beyond disappointed with my recent experience with Bawarchi Biryanis Decatur and the Uber Eats. I placed an order at 08:59 PM on 01/04/2025 and had to cancel it within a minute at 09:00 PM due to unforeseen circumstances. Given the immediacy of the cancellation, I assumed there wouldn’t be an issue. However, I later discovered on 03/04/2025—I received an email receipt—that I had been charged the full amount of around $56 for an order I never received.
When I contacted the restaurant, they confirmed they received my immediate cancellation. Uber Eats also verified the timestamps, acknowledging that the order was placed and canceled within a minute. Yet, when Uber Eats attempted to resolve the situation, the restaurant claimed that the food had already been prepared and discarded because no one picked it up. How is it even remotely possible that a full meal was prepared in a minute?
To make matters worse, my request for the food to be prepared today (since I was already charged) was outright rejected. Uber Eats stated that the restaurant is still getting paid for the order despite the clear evidence of an immediate cancellation. This entire situation is unacceptable and unethical.
I expect better accountability from Bawarchi Biryanis Decatur. Charging a customer in full for an order canceled within a minute—especially when it is logistically impossible for the food to have been prepared in that time—is nothing short of unfair business practice. I will seriously consider this matter of how customers are treated.
