You guys. This place checks all of the boxes! As soon as you walk in, there is a huge display of their fresh pastry selections and it is very clean! The staffwere knowledgeable and friendly. The food. Oh my word.. hands down, some of the best pastries have gotten in the Ubited States. I couldn't decide on just one pastry so I ended up with the original croissant, the Almond croissant and then the coffee cake per the staffs reccomendation.
The croissant reminded me of ones I would get in Paris! So flaky and buttery and an amazing crumb shot (feel free to admire the picture). The almond croissant was so flavorful and with a delicious frangipane inside and a crumble topping (genius). And the COFFEE CAKE was to die for. It has a nice cinnamon flavor with a pecan and oat crumble (I think) that is one of the best things I have ever tasted on a coffee cake. I can see why it was a staff favorite!
I can tell that there is so much care and pride that goes into each...
Read moreAs an Estate Manager in Paradise Valley, I am tasked with finding the "Best of the Best" when it comes to food, products, and services. Chaconne Patisserie, Marc Chacon and his staff make all of that possible when it comes to baked goods. I didn't even mind that we used to have to drive to midtown Phoenix to pick them up - and now how lucky for us they have a location in Scottsdale. My employers love their flaky croissants, and their other creative pastries - especially their seasonal ones. We love them fresh, but they also freeze and warm up really well - which is great when we have unexpected guests. I highly recommend the Tomato Thyme Tart if you like savory - that on the side of a scrambled egg makes a wonderful breakfast or brunch item. Marc's staff is always so professional and they handle larger orders with ease. If you see them at the Farmer's Market, or in a local coffee house - grab one of their pastries - you will never be...
Read moreWe arrived at 9 AM and ordered the ham and cheese croissant, chocolate-almond croissant and the strawberry and stone fruit hand pie. To begin, all of the pastries were cold. So obviously baked the night before so they all lacked the fresh lightness and crunch of a fresh pastry. We had to ask to have the savory croissant warmed up, and it was good but a bit too salty and the bottom on the pastry was dense. The chocolate-almond was a bit too sweet, the chocolate was cold so it was more like a bar of chocolate in a cold pastry, and the crumble topping robbed the pastry of having a higher loft and crisp crunchiness. The saving grace was the hand pie which was good but would have been better if not “day old” /from last night. For three mediocre pastries and two 8 oz cups of coffee $38.55 is asking too much. The lack of atmosphere just underscores the disappointment of the whole experience....
