Culinary Gangster AZ — Restaurant in Scottsdale

Pretty disappointing. Based on the name and description, I was expecting fresh made food. Instead it appears most things come in frozen and premade. The burgers definitely were... perfectly round patties still cold in the center. $8 for a platter of Ore Ida crinkle cut fries topped with cheese sauce and Sriracha was just sad.

Edit: In response to owner, since you took the time to write a response, I will do the same. The sriracha cheese fries included cheese "sauce" was straight out of a #10 restaurant supply can and the sriracha sauce was straight out of a bottle of Huy Fong. The burger patties we got were all perfectly round, uniform, and fairly thin... the icy center of the one cooked to rare was a dead giveaway that these were prefrozen. Sad given that it takes about 30 seconds to weigh out 4 oz of ground meat and shape it into a patty. Nothing in my meal was scratch made and anyone with any kitchen experience could and would quickly come to the same conclusion. Instead of spending so much time responding to every review, use it to improve your kitchen. Listen to the feedback and use it to identify your problem spots. I eat out seven nights a week. This restaurant is on my weekly rotation. Once a week I pick up a couple of salads from here. I have a few modifications! Not once has there been a mixup or issue! Most restaurants mess up frequently sadly! The salad is always fantastic. But even more important, which needs to be recognized is AL! He is such a gem. So kind charming and accommodating! When I’m ordering and I make my specifications, he always says definitely! For some reason, it is so heartwarming. Because his definitely Has always been spot on. Everything always comes up perfect Nothing is a big deal to him. He communicates great with the cooks and he is beyond pleasant. If I could give AL 500 stars instead of five, that’s what he deserves. Culinary gangster you are very lucky to have him as one of your employees!!!! Sometimes food and orders don’t always come out right, which has not happened to me here… But when you have phenomenal employees like AL it doesn’t matter because they make everything...

We came here based off of a recommendation and we’re happy we did! From the minute we came in we received very attentive service. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. We started with the popcorn cauliflower and gangster fries. The cauliflower had a unique breading that looked just like popcorn chicken, but packed with even more flavor. Would also definitely get the gangster fries again, the cheese sauce and ranch combo was perfect - definitely a shareable portion. Our group ordered a bit of everything, from burgers and sandwiches to salads and quinoa bowls, and everything was excellent. I had the chicken avocado quinoa bowl, quinoa can be very hit or miss on texture and flavor, but this was delicious. We ended with the funnel fries and chocolate dipping sauce, the perfect dessert.
