THIS REVIEW IS REGARDING COSTCO'S PARTNERSHIP WITH PARKER AND SONS AIR CONDITIONING - BUYER BEWARE!
Parker and Sons "sold" me a new HVAC furnace and AC unit a year and a half ago and it has been nonstop disappointment from the very beginning. I have constant issues with balanced airflow on one side of the house to the other since the new system was installed - an issue that I did not have prior to replacing the old AC. My old system was working fine but it was old and noisey and with the extreme AZ weather I was hoping to accomplish a few things 1) a more reliable and energy efficient AC system ( it is not any more efficient than my old AC, my bills are the same) 2) I wanted a quieter unit and instead the unit they sold me is noisier than the old one when it cuts on and off.
From the bery beginning when they replaced my return air grill I have had issues because no one at Parker and Sons bothered to tell me that the (20xr40) return air grill they installed does not have AC filters that fit - instead I have to use 2 - 20x20 air fitlers which are not made and the return air grill does not have a center support to hold the 2 smaller filters in place so it either made a whistling noise or it would suck up one of the small air filters and cause a horrific noice. SO I have to tape the 2 20x20 air filters together and hope the tape holds because when it fails it begins making a loud whistling noise or one of the filters gets sucked up into the return duct.
The other issue that came up is one side of my house is much hotter than the other side and they never checked the airflow to make sure it was balanced coming from the FAU. SO now my guest bedroom and guest bath are so hot when I have guests in town during the summer they can hardly stand the heat and I am freezing in my bedroom.
So I called them back out again for the 3rd time with the same issues and when Victor showed up at the very end of the appointment window (even though it was the first stop of the day), I knew right away from how he walked up to my front door and greeted me how the visit would go. He dinked around in the attic for about an hour without really doing any work whatsoever and told me he had to call his supervisor. Then his supervisor was too busy to take his call. Then finally an hour and a half later he comes back in with my "options" all of which are upsells on their crappy initial installation. In order to "potentially adjust the airflow" and repalce their initial defective return air grill the cost was $1571. Then option 2 was to replace my ill fitting return ari grill with an air purifier system where the return air grill goes for even more money - I stopped him before he ever got to the 3rd option because all it was was a snow job to separate me from more of my hard earned money.
The fact that I paid them almost $17,000 for a brand new full HVAC system and it was installed unprofessionally and incomplete never came into the picture. Every time I brought up why didn't they check the air flow when they installed the system or use a return air grill that has available air filters, I was told he doesn't live in my house. WOW!!! I am also posting this review on Costco's website because I went through Costco to buy this underperforming system from this overrated company. BEWARE and sk a lot of questions, DO NOT trust what they are trying to sell you because it is a cheap barebones overpriced AC that does not function as well as my old AC did and does not save me 1 thin dime. It was a complete waste of $17,000 and their answer to their poor workmanship and sloppy installers is to try and sell me more of their crap that will surely not be installed...
Read moreOur recent visit to the North Scottsdale Costco on Hayden Road was nothing short of exceptional. This location, situated at 15255 N Hayden Rd, has quickly become one of our favorite spots for shopping due to its vast selection, competitive pricing, and exemplary service.
First off, the sheer size of this Costco warehouse is impressive. With aisles packed with everything from electronics and appliances to groceries and clothing, we were able to find nearly everything on our list in one go. The quality of the products, especially the Kirkland Signature items, is consistently high, which makes bulk buying not only economical but also a joy.
The staff here are notably friendly and helpful. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with smiles and assistance whenever we needed it. The checkout process was smooth, thanks to well-organized lines and efficient cashiers. Even the food court, famous for its $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, did not disappoint, offering quick, tasty meals that are perfect for a shopping break.
One of the standout features of this Costco is its gas station, which offers some of the best gas prices in the area. The lines can get long, but they move quickly, and it's always worth the wait for the savings. The car wash service is another plus, providing a convenient and affordable way to keep our vehicle clean after a long shopping trip.
The store hours, from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM on weekdays, with adjusted times on weekends, fit perfectly into our schedules, making it easy to plan our visits. The parking lot, although large, is well-managed, ensuring a relatively hassle-free experience even during peak times.
In summary, the North Scottsdale Costco combines a broad product range, friendly service, and additional conveniences like the gas station and car wash, making it an essential part of our shopping routine. Whether you're a seasoned Costco member or considering joining, this location is a testament to why Costco continues to be a favorite...
Read moreI will start by saying I really dislike Costco trips in the first place. This one though was exceptionally bad.
We were grabbing just a few items, ran through self-checkout which was having issues because the scanner was dirty. So I used the handgun, not knowing that was only for items left in the cart. A team member came over, explained and then cleaned the scanner. In this confusion/commotion - one of the items apparently didn't get flagged as not being scanned (against my knowledge obviously)
When we went to leave, J, the team member checking us out; didn't communicate - just mumbled to himself and kept recounting. I finally asked what is the problem? He said that we had 16 items. Ok? He continued to count and recount until I was fed up waiting. I truly didn't understand what the issue was. He just repeated you have 16 items. I counted and said, yes I see that - so what is the issue?
He then let me know there were only 15 items on the receipt. I asked to see the receipt, he just walked away and called someone else over.
At this point, they are BOTH trying to figure out the missing item from the receipt as an elderly woman comes flying up on her scooter asking how to stop it. J and his friend, yelled at her to stop the scooter. Then started talking about how that scared them.
Anyway, they FINALLY found the missing item, which I could have done in less than 2 minutes had I been given the receipt (this was about 10-15 minutes later minimum).
So ridiculous. I get finding the item, but it shouldn't take that long with such a small number of items in a giant cart.
Also - be better. Be kind to the elderly and step outside of yourself and what concerns you every...
