I will never go to this restaurant/bar again. Our server Megan C. was absolutely rude. We left another restaurant to come to this location for a work happy hour, because we have always been well taken care of for a larger group and they are close to our office.
As we sit down our server, Megan, seems to already be overwhelmed with our larger group, but all of us come from a customer service industry so we were relatively understanding. She takes our orders and has us say numbers for ourself out loud, which we thought was odd but we went with it. After she takes our beverage orders, we wait for approximately 40 minutes for the first half of the orders. The second drink orders came out about 5 minutes after, and one of my colleagues had all of the ice melted in her drink. We agreed it wasn't a big deal at all.
My colleagues order food and drinks and one of my coworkers tells Megan that she will be taking care of my beverage. I briefly leave to go visit a friend at a close restaurant and return about 30 minutes later.
During this entire time my party and I have been nothing but polite to Megan. We thanked her consistently because she seemed very ovwr wheed and stressed. (We all work/worked for a company that prides itself on customer service).
As the evening is winding down, everyone was collecting their tabs and Megan handed me a bill for my one drink. I politely told her that I thought my friend had paid for it. She immediately got defensive and began to try to argue with me and my colleagues. I remained calm (being from a customer service background) and simply tried to ask her questions. At this point my coworker tells Megan that she did not receive an itemized receipt and assumed due to her total, that she had already been charged for her drink. Megan disrespectfully tells her that she didn't and then grabs everyone else's receipts and storms off.
Megan comes back about 3 minutes later and when we are asked for that original itemized receipt, she condescendingly shoves it at my coworker and accuses me of being very rude to her. At this point I am getting very frustrated and ask her to speak to a manager. Megan tells me that there is no manager on duty, which I find very very hard to believe. So I ask another employee for a manager and they go and find him for me.
I explain to Chris the entire situation and he admits that Megan lied to me about there not being a manager on duty and that he already "repremainded" her for her behavior. He only offered apologies in this situation. Nothing else besides a promise for a round of drinks on him next time.
As a manager in a customer service industry, I would like to think that I am rather understanding and rational towards other customer facing workers. The service myself and my coworkers received tonight was absolutely unacceptable and inexcusable. I will never be a patron of this...
Read moreI’m not sure I can explain how bad the service we just experienced was at this establishment, One thing is for sure this will be the last time I will ever eat at Loco Patron. I want to start off by saying in my younger days I too was a server. I know how important it is to be a good server, that’s how they get their tips. Our server spent more time explaining why it wasn’t her job to do trivial little things and blamed it on everybody except herself. We first asked if she had any spicier salsa, she said yes we do, but it’s not my job. I’ll have to see if somebody could bring it to you. When we received our food, they forgot to bring our appetizer, so we asked them to please take the appetizer off the bill as typically you would like the appetizer prior to your food. Her excuse was fried foods take so much longer than fajitas. When the fajitas arrived, we asked our server for an additional plate. After a couple minutes, we asked somebody else for a plate. Another couple minutes went by and we asked somebody else for a plate. Finally, we got an additional plate. By this point, the fajitas had lost their sizzle, but they still were good fajitas. My wife asked for a few extra tortillas. Our server told us it’s really not her job to get tortillas but she’ll ask somebody to get them for us. 15 minutes went by before we actually got additional tortillas. This was only after the manager came up and apologized for the service we were receiving. We told him we also were waiting on tortillas, but like I said, it was 15 minutes from the time we asked for the tortillas that we actually received their tortillas. By now the fajitas were cold. The manager, if that’s what he was was extremely condescending and rude. He acted surprised that the server hadn’t done her job. He then told us there’s a lot of new people on staff and maybe she just wasn’t as good as some of the servers. so again excuses were made for bad service. All in all, I would like to rate the food as above average. I would like to rate the service as completely unacceptable. When we received the bill, of course the appetizer was still on the bill. At this point, we intended to leave an absolute zero tip to let this server realize just how pathetic she really was. I walked up to the bar to explain to them that we were also charged for the appetizer, the manager was having conversations with people at the bar about us and that we were complainers. I can’t imagine anything being more unprofessional. When the manager brought back the bill after taking off the appetizer, he made a snide comment. He said “ I took off the appetizer and your tip still says zero, and walked off.” I have not had to write a bad review in over five years. I spend my time praising people because I love good service and always...
Read moreThis place is close to us, so we finally gave it a try. It’s got a fun, lively vibe with a live DJ, solid atmosphere, and a decent happy hour. Taco Tuesdays are a nice bonus. Before coming, I read the reviews and saw the same theme over and over: atmosphere = great, food = pretty good, service = not great. That turned out to be true for us too.
Our waitress was friendly and checked in fairly often, but the service was slow overall—even though it wasn’t very busy. Food was a 4/5. A little pricey for the portion sizes, but the crispy tacos were tasty—just light on the meat.
Unfortunately, the kitchen seems to struggle with reading tickets. We didn’t get our tacos, got someone else’s instead, and my wife bit into pork instead of the chicken she ordered. When we finally got the correct tacos, the queso we ordered never came. After the mix-up, the front-end manager, Kyle, came over and made a few excuses about the kitchen staff being new. He was nice about it, but here’s the thing: these same issues have been mentioned in reviews for a while now. If the staff is new, why hasn’t anyone trained them on fixing the system?
Also, the place feels like a dive bar when it comes to cleanliness. Tables were sticky, like they’ve been wiped down with the same dirty towel for years. There’s a buildup of grime that’s hard to ignore—really disappointing considering how nice the patio area is.
Bottom line: it’s a fun spot for drinks and a good time, but don’t expect great service or a clean table. Come for the atmosphere, stay for the music, and manage your expectations for...
