It was the end of an extremely long day, and the last thing the wife and I wanted to do was cook. "What are you in the mood for?" I asked in preparation of the 3 hour long debate regarding our dinner choices that was about to begin. Much to my surprise, we came to a conclusion rather quickly, big juicy burgers.
"Mr.Beast Burger" she said excitedly as we are nearing our meal time. I thought about the process of getting food from Mr. Beast Burger, having to order on an app, overpay for fees and delivery, and enjoy my meal cold. No thank you. I started doing some digging on my Google timeline. Being newish to Phoenix, there were still a handful of restaurants that we've only made a few visits to. I found it. Hopdoddy Burger Bar. The last time we visited was right after the pandemic started, then the world came to a halt and we forgot to return. We got changed into nicer clothes, got in the car, and started on our adventure. We decided to drive a little further for the location in Scottsdale, the one we haven't tried yet.
Upon arrival, the restaurant looked moderately busy, but nothing to crazy. We were excited. We got inside the restaurant, only to be greeted by friendly 'hellos' and plenty of smiles. There was no line, so ordering our food was a breeze. While we were sitting and waiting for our meal, the bartender, Faith, walked past with an outstanding looking blended beverage. "What?!? WHAT WAS THAT?" my wife asked me in excitement. During Faiths next trip past, we stopped her to ask. "Carmel Shake" she confirmed. Faith quickly helped us enjoy a shake with our meal, seeing our amazement. Our food came shortly after and we were beyond taken away.
You can taste the freshness of the food. Everything was perfect, from the patty, to the toppings, and even the condiments. Absolutely perfect! We cannot express how satisfied we are with our visit. When we got home, we had completely forgotten about our long, busy days, and we were ready to unwind and relax, all thanks to an AMAZING experience at Hopdoddy. I'm happy to say this experience is becoming a regular part of our lives. Thank you Hopdoddy with a super special thank you to Faith for being so...
Read moreI stopped in to Hopdoddy this evening at the Scottsdale location, before 6pm (5:58pm). The line was long, but it was my turn up at the register fairly quickly. I ordered two classic burgers, one with bacon, an order of fries, and loaded brussel sprouts. Not all for me. The nice guy at the register told me to take a seat at table #31 and my food would be brought out to me.
I was getting dinner for my mother and I and at 6:42pm I was still sitting at table #31 waiting for my food. I got up, asked someone else at the register, and that gentleman said he would check on my order.
A few minutes later a girl comes with two bags, a medium bag with my burgers and sides, and another large bag to put the medium bag in. I asked her how long my food had been sitting, that I waited for more than 40 mins, 45 at this point. She said I could check my food, the fries were hot, but my order could be remade.
I said no way. I've been waiting for 45 minutes FOR A TO GO ORDER, that came to $50-$60 after gratuity was left.
The restaurant was busy, so I expected to wait a little while, but not as long as I did.
When I got home, the burgers were cold, undercooked, fries and brussels were cold too. Major disappointment. I will never again make the stupid decision to go there on a Saturday night, stand in line for ages, only to sit for ages, to have cold food by the time I get home.
I'm still irritated, as I was at work myself from 8:02am-5:30pm. I couldn't even order a margarita to go. (It was that kind of day.)
My hope is that someone can get back to me and rectify this somehow.

Read moreI was confused by the initial setup. I was greeted by hostess & I told her how many in our party and she told me to go stand at the end of a line where there were already a few people. They don't take your name & how many and give you an approximate wait time, you just wait in this line until it is your turn. Once it is your turn you go to the counter to order & pay for your food. It is also during this time that you are assigned your table #, where you will be sitting. I found it a bit odd that the receipt had the option to write in a tip before you experienced the service but I suppose you could leave that at zero and leave cash on the table. Also while waiting in line a server made the rounds asking if anyone wanted a drink. I ordered a beer and rather than having that added onto my bill I paid her separately. After ordering you sit and wait for the server to bring you your food. One positive note is that since you already paid when you are finished you can leave whenever, you don't have to try to find your server to get your check and settle up. I will say that the food was amazing. I ordered the Buffalo Bill and the cashier made the comment that was her favorite. When the server came & was identifying the burgers while passing them out when she came to my Buffalo Bill she also commented how that was her favorite. They weren't lying...this was an awesome burger!! I could say it was on par with Gordon Ramsay BurGR @ Planet Hollywood (at least my burger was). I was very pleased with the beer selection too...all local breweries, $5 for a good size amount. I would make a...
