I recently dined at Modern Oyster Bar and Chop House and had an absolutely amazing experience. The food was outstanding, and I highly recommend trying their Chilean Sea Bass and Bone in Filet.
To start off our meal, we ordered the Bakers Dozen chilled oysters as an appetizer. They were incredibly fresh and delicious, perfectly complementing the rest of our meal.
The Chilean Sea Bass was cooked to perfection, with a delicate and buttery texture that melted in my mouth. The flavors were well-balanced, and the dish was beautifully presented. It was truly a culinary delight.
The Bone in Filet was another highlight of our dining experience. The steak was cooked to our desired level of doneness and was incredibly tender and flavorful. The accompanying sides were also well-prepared and added to the overall enjoyment of the dish.
The service at Modern Oyster Bar and Chop House was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.

Read moreI would just like to start off by saying that this was one of our favorite restaurants in Arizona, until the other night. We went here on a Friday night... the day before we were getting married because we loved the place! We ordered for appetizers a dozen oysters the kamodo and blue point, as well as a lobster bisque then lobster Mac & cheese and mushrooms on the side. Which was all pretty delicious, my husband had a 6oz steak for his entree, divine. Now the reason I give the restaurant 2 stars is because one of the owners behaviors... So for myself I ordered from the warm seafood plateaux section and had a petit plateau. This isn't my first time ordering it, it's pricey but very satiating when made properly. With that being said the shrimp was over cooked, and the scallops were charred! They remade the dish (after much hesitation on my end I hate to complain I feel so bad) but after my husband tried it he let our sweet server Mike know. The manager came over and apologized and offered to comp that meal or give us a free desert or something of the sort. (My husband also heard another table complaining about the scallops about 30 minutes before this entire fiasco). So they remade the entire dish and charred the scallops again, I let her know when she came back and asked me how they were. The owner said the chef would remake them again himself, at this point I'm embarrassed and not even hungry I tell her it's fine please don't bring anything else out. She does anyways, comes back after a few minutes to ask how they are, as I'm chewing I just nod at whatever she says because I'm quite over it. Then she had the audacity to proceed to tell me SHE KNOWS they were made properly because she had one herself, I said nothing. The third time the scallops were not charred, but undercooked and a bit gooey/ and chewy in the center! The female owner took nothing off the check, after her boastful attitude in the end, this was upsetting to say the very least. Now with that being said we still left Mike our server a 20% tip on our $340 check because he's...
Read moreWhile I am not a food critique of renown, I am one of those picky eaters that is in every family. I struggle to find places I want to go back to because I personally need perfection, due to lack of taste, experience, and variety.
First: we were greeted by a delightful host. Second: our server was someone to aspire to. Never in my life has someone in the service industry taken my breath away like Mel has. I’m still searching for air. Third: celebrating my wife’s birthday, I was not going to settle for anything but a blissful evening. The water-tenders, the waitstaff, the entire crew were executing their specific tasks to something past perfection. I never felt that this was for us, as I took a few moments throughout to notice other tables service. Equally fantastic.
Fourth: I’m someone to test limits and compare to other glorious moments in my life. This was beyond anything I’ve ever witnessed first-hand.
If you haven’t been here yet, and you’re looking for the most romantic and sophisticated moving dinner adventure, Modern Oyster Chophouse must be a destination!
I pray I haven’t found the Mount Everest of dining experiences, but I believe I have. We will be back.
Pricey, AND worth every single penny.!! (A not so wealthy foodie with a love for his own wallet.)
Mel was our server and the owner took time to speak with us about the business. How well-spoken the staff was and taken care of we were, will last in my...
