PitaDale — Restaurant in Scottsdale

Came here for lunch. Really clean inside. The smell when you open the door draws you in. The staff were busy! A lot of call-in orders were being bagged up, which is a good sign. We both love this cuisine and always look for good places to try while out of town. This did not disappoint. The chicken shwarma and chicken gyro platters were filling. The dolmades were different. Served cold, with a slight sweetness. I'm used to them being warm, so I am definitely warming them up. The grape leaves were so tender, making a great bite. The worker was very personable and accommodating. My husband ordered a piece of cheesecake. The worker was quick to tell us that the dessert was still frozen and would take some time to unthaw. No problem for us because we dined in to eat and could wait. When we asked for the cheesecake, the you lady went to check. She came back to us and said the worker forgot to take it out, and also did not charge us. When we asked for to-go containers, the young lady brought them to us with 2 pieces of cheesecake to take with us because he forgot. So sweet for them to do that. Just another example of great customer service we've experienced on this trip to Scottsdale...

I’ve been coming to Pitadale for years. As a vegetarian there are lots of great choices but I always get the veggie pita combo. It has a choice of hummus, choice of side and a fountain beverage/iced tea. I opt for the fries as a side and they, and the pita, are always made fresh to order. I’m not a fan of bell peppers and I request no bell peppers. The staff are always willing to accommodate. It’s a great spot lunch!

There is a covered patio with six 4-top outdoor tables and some are shaded. There is a code to access the restrooms now, ask for it at the register.

This is a small business and they are currently short staffed (like most of the world). So be kind to the staff who are working and if you know anyone looking for a job — they are hiring!

I went out on a limb to try this place and based on the reviews thought it would be good. First off, if I hadn't ordered online, I would have walked out immediately based off of the smell alone. The hummus was so watery it was pouring out of the container and was dumped into the bag. I still gave it a shot and wanted to taste it, the hummus itself was so watered down it is inedible. It tasted NOTHING like hummus and whatever sauce that was on top, was no good.
