Black and Brass Coffee — Restaurant in Scranton

Found this place unexpectedly during a road trip to the Finger Lakes. The first time we stopped by on our way up we loved the coffee so much we decided to pass by on our way back home. The second visit was off though. We ordered iced shaken espressos both times yet got vastly different results. The second time the barista made it without milk and it seemed barely shaken. More like an americano. She kindly remade it noting that these aren’t made with milk, yet the first barista from a few days ago made it with milk without even asking and made a delicious drink. This second drink wasn’t very good, even after the remake, but at that point I wasn’t going to ask for another. In either case, they may have a training issue and should ensure all baristas are on the same page regarding their recipes as their coffee beans are actually really good and I’d always prefer to visit a local coffee shop over a large chain. I would also point out that I asked for decaf shaken espressos as we’d had a lot of coffee during the day and she shook it with ice made of coffee…thereby introducing caffeine into a decaf drink (which I know already includes some small amount...

Well I have had two different experiences now at this establishment. October 2nd friend and I stopped by and the service was absolutely amended. Stop by again today October 3rd and was met with no response to even a hello and my coffee was made in a completely different way and I wasn't asked about any further anything for it. It was like the woman was trying to ignore us and just get her job over with. If this is addressed, I will definitely give a far better review, but as it stands, service makes the establishment especially...

The decor is very industrial chic and has that moody yet productive vibe. The lighting fab & you can do your work or research or just chill.
