I Called and placed a $55.00 delivery order at 9:30pm on Friday and the owner was rude and impatient with me. She couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. I understand they close at 10pm, but there is no reason to be RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL to a customer placing an order 30 minutes before closing. When I call and place orders every 1-2 weeks the price of my bill is $45.00 or more on average and I always tip $3.00 to the delivery driver even if the order is wrong! The owner who was taking my order kept asking me how much of a tip to charge on my credit card order. My response was " I always tip $3 to the driver if the driver is polite and the order is on time." The owner couldn't understand my sentence in English and asked me 3 more times, getting a Little Ruder with each Request! When the driver delivered my family's $55.00 meal I asked him if there was a problem and "Brett" (On his nameplate) told me that the Owner was trying to close the register and that is why she behaved that way. The driver didn't apologize. He actually justified her abuse of a customer. "Brett" informed me that he wouldn't apologize because the Owner was his Friend and when I told him I could take my business to "1979" the other Chinese Restaurant, the driver told me the owner was his friend and if I wanted to take my business to "1979" to go ahead because they serve Dog Food! So Wong's Chef, a tiny little restaurant just lost a Loyal Customer who spends over $1400 a year on Average in their little place just because they were rude, impatient and disrespectful to a Regular Customer and they are Arrogant enough to think they are the best place in town. When you forget who got you where you are in business(the paying customer) then you will eventually perish. The "1979" Chinese Restaurant has a larger selection on their menu and they will appreciate a Loyal Customer who is willing to spend consistently $1400/ year in their place just for good food and a little common courtesy to their customer. Wong's Chef, In the American Business Culture it doesn't pay to be Rude to your Customers! We speak...

Rating: 1/5
I was initially excited to try this restaurant, but my encounter with the owner/manager was shockingly disappointing.
The Incident:
I checked the mileage (4.9 miles) and called to order directly. I confirmed with the owner that they deliver to La Porte, and they said yes. The gentleman who took my order also confirmed delivery to my exact address. Moments later, the owner/manager called to cancel, citing:
a. Being 1 mile outside their delivery radius (despite initial confirmation). b. Changing reasoning multiple times.
The Rudeness:
The owner/manager was:
Condescending Argumentative Dismissive Unwilling to listen
When I offered to pay an extra $5 for delivery, she became agitated, raising her voice. Her tone was dripping with disdain.
The Reason for My Disappointment:
As someone who dislikes using DoorDash due to consistently receiving cold orders, I wanted to support a local business. But the owner/manager's appalling behavior has ensured I'll never give them my business.
Warning:
Unless the management changes, beware of:
Unreliable delivery policies Unprofessional customer service Rude treatment
Final Verdict:
Avoid this restaurant unless you enjoy being belittled and...
Read moreIf I could give a zero I would. The so-called manager (she would not disclose her name) is beyond rude. We made an order and it was wrong when we brought it home. We called so we could bring it back to return them and get the right order. As most restaurants do, you correct it and move on. She argued over the phone saying we were wrong and she gave us what we ordered even though multiple people heard the conversation. She raised her voice and talked over me and continued to argue that we ordered the wrong thing instead of just fixing the order. When I called out her unprofessional behavior she said I don't care just don't eat here! Wow! do not be in the business of serving people if you feel you have to prove a point lady! We are all about supporting local restaurants and this really is a poor example of being a "neighborhood" restaurant. If you do right by your community you get more in return. Why argue? I don't understand the logic. Very disappointed in the service. You can serve good food all day long but if you do not care about people you serve you are in the...
