Paris Bakery makes THE best Princess Cake and I searched high and low in Monterey to find a bakery that makes them. I ordered one for a baby shower for for a baby boy and requested it to be tinted in blue instead of the traditional pastel green. So we called it a "prince" cake! Hehe.
Traditionally it is a classic Scandinavian torte with layers of sponge cake, raspberry jam, vanilla custard, and whipped cream. It is typically covered with a layer of sweet marzipan tinted green.
They even add the extra step of using fresh raspberries on the inner layer. The marzipan "frosting" layer was super fresh and it was the perfect touch of sweetness. All the guests were asking what it was and where it was from. Will definitely be purchasing for future parties.
