2 syllables - ghet-to. First off - my kids needed to have a bath first night. They don’t offer plugs for the tubs - so we attempted to use a cloth to plug the drain - photo provided of what the cloth looked like after touching drain for a mere 5-10 minutes. Next thing , like usual my kiddos are usual kids and splashed a bit outside the tub - used a towel to dry up the floors (we had been here less than 20 minutes mind you) Photo provided of the dirty towel after I washed for the floors for the first time for them in who knows how many people. The tub was disgusting. They’re is what looks to be like pee splashed on the walls. Many of the plugs did not work. Also on that note, the shower barely turns enough to get Luke warm let alone hot. There were numerous stains on the beds of the sheets. Ice machine was broken. No hot tub like advertised, “ breakfast “ consisted of warm yogurt because none of their fridges work properly apparently, freezer burnt eggo waffles, overly stale cereal and horrible coffee. Two thin sheets and one small thin blanket on beds in middle of their “winter”. Absolutely no internet service in our room, had to step outside to connect and use it. Regular cell service was even spotty inside the actual room. Almost $270 CAD for two nights. Will never ever stay again. And wouldn’t recommend to anyone travelling who actually stays in hotels frequently. They do not allow pets although they come up on numerous travel booking websites stating they do. The only plus is location as it is within driving/walking distance to quite a bit of grocery stores, restaurants, the Monterey aquarium (which they no longer offer discounted tickets to here) and other Monterey tourist attractions. As well as one hour drive from Big Sur.

Room 203 by the stairs. Price $58.50 We just wanted something cheap for the night. I always use Best Western because of a certain level of quality. I tried a SureStay for the first time. I get $58.50 is cheap but Best Western needs to drop this hotel or upgrade it. This is a cheap budget 2 star hotel (motel?). DO NOT BRING YOUR WIFE, KIDS OR FAMILY HERE. My notes from begging to end of stay: My wife and I checked in and headed to our room. Was almost hit by a white Chevy Tahoe that had tinted windows and playing heavy bass. He stopped at the corner intersection of rooms and got out and knocked on the room door. Someone answered and they were exchanging something.. hmm I'm thinking this is something out if a movie.. I hurried myself and wife quickly away to our room. I called front desk.. later we went down because we needed a fork, the guy said he is aware and they previously had been warned.. Other than that: Squeeky floor Old windows Cheap shade thing Old ac/heat No shade on window bathroom Crusty showerhead Hanging storage screw missing Xfinity TV freezes every 5 min Room by stairs is loud Wifi disconnects No breakfast even though site says so Housekeeping comes at 9:30 even though checkout 12:00

I stayed at SureStay By Best Western Seaside Monterey with my wife and two kids on July 4th. I asked for a ground floor room due to a busy time, but the owner declined, which was understandable. When we entered our room, it smelled bad—really bad. I asked to change to a room with wooden floors like the ones shown online, as we are allergic to carpet. The owner agreed to change our room the next morning. The next day, when I took a shower, water sprayed everywhere because of a leaky showerhead. I went to the office to complain, but the owner and another lady told me to fix it myself by pressing a button, which didn't work. Later, when I asked for a different room, the owner rudely said there were none available and claimed he was just an employee, not the owner. But when I pushed back, he admitted he was the owner. No one came to fix the showerhead or address our complaints. When I checked out on the morning of the 6th, there was a sign saying they were busy, though the office was empty each time I checked. This was the worst service and most disrespectful behavior I've ever experienced. After this, I won't stay at any SureStay hotel again.

(edit)( polite and professional response on here made me up it one star) I'm not one for writing negative reviews but weStayed there this week and the convenience to the beach and highway are great .. rooms have been updated so they look good but it ends there.. apparently werever the bathroom vents from is a smoking area because immediately after turning the bathroom fan on the room smelled like marijuana smoke extremely strong and we couldn't run the vent at all. Took awhile to get the room to air out since we don't smoke... The housekeeping staff turned the air conditioner off every time they came in to clean so the room was sweltering by the time we got back in the afternoon around 4:00. The Continental breakfast is as you expect so no problem there it's just cereal or frozen waffles or maybe an apple.. we were set to check out on Sunday morning and left early Saturday afternoon after housekeeping had been to our room and shortly after leaving I realized that I had left my $80 shaped pillow in the room laying in the middle of the bed I called the front desk the girl at the front desk was very friendly and said she would go get it and give me a call back so my friend in town could pick it up. after not hearing anything back I called back Sunday around noon and got a very unhelpful abrupt gentleman who informed me that they just couldn't find it and it was probably in a dumpster I asked if he could double check and he said The housekeeping staff already told him they couldn't find it and he was sorry he was very short and dismissive and by this time I'm pretty irritated and said if the housekeeping stuff can't find a shaped pillow sitting in the middle of a bed they probably took it which he responsed no one is going to steal a pillow is there anything else I can help you with.. overall I accept that it's a relatively cheap motel and some of the problems you just have to deal with... But don't expect good service if anything goes wrong or there to be anybody at the front desk in the morning during breakfast because every morning I was there there was a sign out that said we are helping another guest the entire time and no...

I had researched prior to booking and some remarks from other patrons called my attention. So i called and addressed my concern to the manager named "Rick"..whom btw promised to put us up in the rear of the building. Well..bad mistake, first day, next door a very LOUD female patron, and her boyfriend? She kept going in and out of the room slamming door. He, came outside stood on the balcony looking out after she left..smoking.. boy did he look creepy. About half hour later here she comes again walking heavy, slamming door.all the way until 5am...they kept talking very loud and laughing. inside these walls arent thick. No sleep that night after my husband had driven 7 hrs to what was supposed to be a quiet getaway.😡..later I found out the manager knew this woman cuz she comes often..at least once a week. Good luck to you all..Anyhow second day SAME! very noisy..Lots of construction workers, coming in and out with no respect for others, in their company trucks..hanging out playing loud music right away..we Complained yet Again..these guys stood outside drinking beer talking loud, playing Mexican music, not the kind you'd like to hear..mind you, I'm latina. So many construction workers stay there so just heads up I think the manager knew them too. Cause he did NOTHING! Finally 4th day I couldnt stand it..told husband let's get the hell out..went to tell manager, all he did was apologize. Not good enough for us, they credited our last day..GOOD RETINCE TO THIS PLACE..NEVER AGAIN. and to those considering..Please vet your decision just trying to help....
