I saw this place and was so excited because Sam choy is one of my favorite chefs. His recipes are gorgeous and comforting and the ingredients are simple and easy to come by. I really wanted this meal to reflect my high opinion of Sam. I give 5 stars on presentation, the mai tai served in the spam can was perfect and had me smiling. I ordered the poke, it came with 2 scoops rice, and a little bit of wakame salad. My 3 stars are because the salad was expired. poke was, to be fair, the best poke I’ve had outside of Honolulu, but the expired salad and the lackluster service was a little disappointing. Would I go back and try it again? YES! everyone can have an off day and poke and rice is life. Especially if the poke is served the right way without a bunch of stuff that doesn’t belong.

Spent 25$ for what was mostly rice and leaves. What little salmon I did have was pretty good, though! The most off-putting experience was by far the staff. Benefit of the doubt to the older lady behind the to-go counter who didn't speak English great, as she was super overtly curt and dismissive. But what blew me away was that I went to sit in the seated portion next door after ordering, only to be told by the hostess that I had to order from their menu. I held up my bag and showed her I just did and she told me "no. It has to be only an order from this side. Company policy." I guess I could have understood if the place was full? But it was super empty. Yall need to put signs up that say "MUST NOT ORDER FROM KIYOSK IF YOU WISH TO SIT DOWN" or something. That was pretty ridiculous.

I wouldn’t have considered leaving a review for an airport restaurant under pretty much any circumstances, but I had such an exceptionally great experience at Sam Choy’s that I’m stepping up. Not only was the mocktail pineapple ginger beer delicious and worth it (ok, yes, I almost fell off the bench when I saw the price, but I’m glad I got it), the ahi sohyu rice plate was just what I needed - not too heavy, still filling, a great mix of flavors. And the service was exceptionally great. When I was leaving, I took my water bottle out to dump my remaining water in (I never pass up a good iced water!) and the bartender came over and offered to fill it with ice water! So kind! So yes, 100% I’ll be coming here for lunch every time I have the chance.

Surprisingly Delicious Stop at Sam Choy’s Poke – SEA Airport

I wasn’t really sure what to expect when we stopped at Sam Choy’s Poke at Seattle International Airport. It wasn’t my pick… my travel companion was really eager to try it, so we went for it. And I’m glad we did!

We started with the Spam sushi roll as an appetizer, and wow—amazing! Salty, savory, and perfectly balanced. For the main dish, we each ordered the Loco Moco rice bowl: a hearty hamburger patty served over rice, smothered in rich gravy, and paired with your choice of green salad or classic macaroni salad. Every bite was full of bold, comforting flavors.

The portions were huge—honestly, we could have skipped the appetizer, but no regrets there. The service was super friendly and right on point. The setup is pretty simple, nothing fancy, but that didn’t bother me at all.

If you’re passing through SEA and want something filling and flavorful, I’d definitely recommend...
