I walked in the door with mixed feelings but I tried so hard to like this pizzeria since there aren't many restaurant options in First Hill. I live across the street so I was initially alarmed to find out that they served food with the way their roof looks (there's literally a chair next to so much moss and mold on their roof). However, the experience was worse than the bird's eye view. My husband and I ordered two drinks and a pizza. After twenty minutes, I asked the bartender what their average wait time is for a pizza. He looked at the POS and said "it's been 20 minutes so it'll probably be another 15-20." I asked if we could just cancel the pizza and pay then as I inserted my card, miraculously my pizza was ready. I told him that I would rather just leave, especially after the lack of actual service I had received. At no point did he swivel the POS to me so I have no clue if I paid for the pizza or not and had no option for a receipt. The entire experience just felt unpleasant, which was saddening. I guess we'll just have to stick to making our own pizza and...
Read moreMy son and I recently visited Ananas Pizzeria and were blown away by the exceptional food and customer service. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made my son and I feel right at home.
The pizza was absolutely fantastic. The garlic buttery crust was perfectly crispy and provided a wonderful base for the flavorful sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.
The meatballs were a palate pleasure, with a satisfying meatiness, a subtle hint of herbs, and a delightful beefy flavor.
While the online menu was impressive, I discovered that they had even more delicious options available in the restaurant itself. They also offered chicken wings and garlic knots, which sounded like the perfect complement to a pizza dinner.
If you're looking for a truly satisfying pizza experience, I highly recommend giving Ananas Pizzeria a try. You won't be disappointed! Just remember to order inside to take advantage of...
Read morethe pizza was average. i got the cheese and the pepperoni. the cheese was average, the sauce was too tangy. the pizza feels like your below average bar pizza.
the service was good. the bartender gave us enough time to make a choice. the pizza came out pretty quick. other than that, it was pretty much the service you get in a bar lol.
the atmosphere was quiet and quaint. we went on a thursday night and we were one of the 2 groups in the whole place. the atmosphere was sports-bar like but at the same time, also old and dark. seems pretty cool if you’re into that.
the selection of cocktails and beers was pretty short.
overall, a good find. recommend if you’re a first-hill local looking to get a quick and/or quiet drink/pizza in the neighborhood. not a very touristy place.
edit: i take it all back, it was stupid. this...
