The experience starts on the 1st floor , off 4th Ave. Tickets a bit pricey. But thankful for Bogo deal. The view is breathtaking. Spent 2 hrs on 73rd observation floor, reading the history and walking around enjoying the 360 degree view. Also enjoying a glass of wine from cafe. The cafe was out of multiple wines and although the bartender / ? Was helpful with suggestions we couldn't help but be a little taken back by their attire. If your a business and you go the extent to purchase or lease a space that is hands down one of a kind... I would expect one might not forget any detail , such as attire for employees. Maybe the entire shift had a washer/dryer malfunction or they had to fill in for someone on the spot. But this truely helps to make the entire experience and money spent to watch the sunset while having a glass of wine or or what have you and wanting to come back. One side of the observation deck has games for kids so they can play while parents appreciate the view . Unfortunately at the time we went .. mind you was late at night, there were many kids as well as obnoxious of age "drinkers" that had a few to many before getting there. To bring to light. One of these games that some "New Age Urban hippie" came up with was an oversized wooden "Connect Four"... are u freaking kidding me! They drop in to the slot with an annoying Cheap wood Thwack sound... ya not enjoyable for those trying to appreciate the surrounding beauty. Other board and puzzle games that were slightly less annoying were littering the North side of the Observatory as well. It was not well thought out! But I suppose it's the thought that counts right! I have an idea.. leave the kids at a , "should be daycare" at the bottom because I'm sure they dont care or appreciate the money that was spent to look out the window ! And as far as annoying drunk ppl, I have not figured out a way to ignore them without thinking of how stupid they look and sound! To some up the experience Circus mixed with first class view I'll...
Read morefirst off I rate the view a 6 out of 5 stars, why is this a 3 star review then? well I feel as though the entry to the top is over priced, since you can just go on the other elevators and go almost to the top for free just with out the view, the bottom floor before you get on the elevator seems so cheesy with its gimmicky gift shop and a random photo taken by the employee in front of a screen not even showing the view just some random picture, the employees also didn't seem to happy to be there and like they didnt care but you forget all about that once you get to the top to see the amazing view of all seattle and beyond, I spent over 2 hrs at the top just enjoying the view then got hungry went to look at the menu and it was very over priced so I wanted to go back down to get food somewhere else and I asked if I could come back up for free to which I was told it's not free but you can pay a little more and get up here for a discounted price, now that's just messed up on top of you paying a lot for your original ticket they want even more money to come back. over all when you go hear come 1 hr before sun set so you can see both views, and come full of food If you plan on being up...
Read moreHIGHLY recommend checking out the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center! It’s taller, cheaper, and significantly less crowded than the Space Needle with just as amazing 360 views!
We went at 2pm on a Saturday, there was no line to buy tickets or for the elevator going up. The observation floor itself was not crowded at all and the Sky Cafe was selling drinks including alcohol and coffee. Staff was very friendly too!
General admission tickets were $25 (tickets to the Space Needle are $34). You can get the “all-inclusive” tickets ($45) which include a voucher to the cafe/gift shop and access to tables up against the windows. There was plenty of other seating though.
There used to be a Starbucks on the 40th floor that was free to access. However, it’s been moved down to the first floor and is not open on weekends.
Overall this is definitely worth the trip and is a great alternative to the Space Needle if you’re looking to avoid the crowds and save a...
