This is an edit to my review based upon the response from the general manager Becky. Nice try but that's not going to work Becky. I know that trick. You think that since I wrote a negative review publicly that you can call it into doubt by writing publicly that you can't find my reservation in the system. Bull. I'm in your system twice within the same week because I had a reservation on the 18th through the 20th and then the 22nd to the 24th. I would not have returned after the incident in the restaurant on the night of the 19th but the 2nd reservation was already paid for. Jerrick (manager) said he noted the icident. Rm 2917. Alexis checked me out. -- It literally pains me to say this but I would never stay here again and I'm giving this place one star. I stayed here for four nights. That is a financial investment on my part. I came to the Northwest part of the United States to see it before I die and I am dying. I am a cancer patient and the cancer in my brain has come back with a vengeance. There were some wonderful things about this hotel and a few of the employees that I am not going to name them because I do not want to offer anyone encouragement to stay here because of the mishaps and what was down right intentional hostility on the part of a couple of staff members. You cannot expect people that are paying hundreds of dollars to stay at your facility to be treated with a lack of respect and then for that person to want to rebook and come back. The first incident I did the best I could to overlook. On Sunday evening at 8:00 I walked into the restaurant and there was a waiter standing very close to where I entered and I said are you still open. There were probably about 20 patrons and when he looked at me he had a huge frown on his face and said what do you want. Who in the world greets somebody like that. I told him I would like to eat and he said well could you just take it to go. It was clear this man did not want me in the restaurant and I could not understand why so I left. Then I found out he was the entire staff. He was the only one working in the restaurant. The Seattle Mariners were playing in the playoffs at that moment and a hotel was packed because the following night Seattle would play Houston for Monday night football. Why was he the only staff member? On my final night I tried to purchase a few items from their pantry area and I thought the prices were extraordinary, the guy behind the desk agreed with me. He said it's like this at all the hotels and I said no clearly it is not. And he said yes it is. I suggested that's not my experience and he continued to correct me again telling me that there's no way they are cheaper somewhere else. Now I'm not in the mood to have somebody denying my experience. Then it turned out he was giving me the wrong prices according to someone else at the desk who overheard The exchange. But what push me over the edge was Taylor. I have never met anyone more rude and hostile. I went back down at 11:30 at night to make a purchase hoping I would have the right price. As I approached the desk she had her eyes locked onto the computer and never looked at me she never greeted me she never said hello. I set the muffin down and she said to me $6.62 cents. That was all she said $6.62. I thought to myself I'm going to try to be very kind of her and maybe that will uplift her mood and I said how are you tonight and she's gritted her teeth and said “I just got here and it's a mess.” Well I'm not paying hundreds of dollars a night to be your counsel. I've got a strong backbone and I can handle this but I am very affected. I am irrational to expect just because I'm sick for my swan song of travel to be perfect. Nothing is perfect. But these moments lack hospitality and decency. Thus this review is my experience with the hope that no future guest experiences anything in this manner. Seattle is gorgeous. The people for the most part are fantastic and I have wonderful photos and memories that I have deleted every photo of this hotel and I hope I can delete the memory...

Coast Seattle Downtown Hotel has to be what happens when a reputable chain like Hilton pulls their flag. In other words, when the standards are so low that the hotel operator gets booted out of the family. I'm not positive this is what happened, but if I were Hilton, I would have stopped allowing this operator to use the Hilton's good name. Where do I begin?
Upon entering for my stay.... One guest I saw was complaining that their wifi wasn't working Another guest with a Microsoft lanyard was swearing about how they couldn't earn Hilton points. Why? Because for some reason the internet sites are listing this is still a Hilton, even though it isn't a Hilton anymore. Hasn't been for a month. It’s literally not the hotel the internet says it is. Another person was complaining that her key card isn’t working.
Then my room... The bathroom had a clogged sink. Technically after brushing my teeth it did eventually drain down but it was gross. Am I supposed to clean the trap? The bathroom didn't have a working light. Guess I'm showering by cellphone flashlight Indeed, there was no wifi. There were hundreds of other wifi access points from all over the city, but none with the hotel. Rather than print the WiFi network name on the room key envelope like every other modern hotel, you instead read through hundreds of other WiFi network names until it sinks in that none is them match the name of the place you’re staying. Guess I have to pay for my mobile phone's hotspot, or, go complain to the girl at the desk who’s already stressed out from all of the other complaints she’s getting about that issue. Wait: why does my room have 2 brands of water in there? Was one left by a previous guest? Hope not. I tried to call the front desk to report the broken bathroom light, but the PHONE wasn't working right. To the phone's credit, it looked old.. my guess is it was 20-30 years old like from the era when Friends or Dawson’s Creek was still on TV. I had to speakerphone the front desk to ask about having the light in my bathroom fixed but nobody was available until the next day to fix it. How do you not have a handyman on standby? They did offer to put me in another room, but I'm not about to relocate all of my stuff in the middle of the night when I'm already in my pjs. That led me to the conclusion that there's a strong chance that the only employee in the entire hotel at night is just the girl at the front desk. Without any security or employees, your hotel room door might as well be facing the public sidewalk. Worried about my safety, I packed up my stuff and left early the next morning, ending my reservation days early.
I actually did stay for a 2nd night before I realized the extent to what was going on. The place ultimately is an outdated hotel which is falling into disrepair but charging similar rates as properly run hotels that are just a block away. After I left, I relocated to another better nearby hotel where I'm 1000% happier.
I complained via email, citing some of what was wrong and a manager replied apologizing and blaming AT&T for the wifi problems and said someone would come to fix the light.
The only thing the hotel seems to have going for them is there's a very nice pair of women working in the restaurant during breakfast hours. I think the one I talked to was named Sandra. I feel bad for Sandra - she should be working for a hotel which is awesome...
Read moreI stayed here for a total of 5 days over the course of 8 days. My first night I ordered room Service and my food had a piece of a scrubber in it. The last two days of my stay, upon arrival and check-in I used the garage for part of my unload this time and for parking, a bit more of a stretch to carry two arms full of luggage ,but easier due to lack of parking availability. As I mentioned, i struggled with my bags and the valet guy rushed over to bring me a cart but couldn't find one. . He helped me carry my things into the elevator, and to my surprise even to my room. He unloaded my bags for me at my Doorway. Very respectful and manners were present. I tipped him . We parted. Hours later I am outside and I see the same valet guy , smoking drugs across the street. He saw me and took his hat off with a courteous head nod. I realized at that point. They have no valet. The man was just kind and helpful. Until ..... He made contact with me three more times after that encounter. I, at one point noticed my room key was missing , I had only one key instead of two. So I went to lobby had them void all prior keys and requested A set of new keys. Later, on my last night there I received a call from lobby clerk, stating there was a visitor for me downstairs and asked me if I wanted him(clerk) to issue him a key so he might come up. Shocked by the request. ... . My first word was "NO" , followed by : I'm headed downstairs to the ground level anyway, so I'll just meet him at the ground level by the elevators. Mind you I just got out of shower and had staff bring me a new towel just minutes prior, so I still wasn't dressed. And that's when the stranger enters my room with a brand new key fob issued by the hotel clerk himself. I called down to lobby immediately and all the clerk would say is no, he didn't. . so I made the man confront the clerk with me in person, that's when he admits he did re code the key that the man already had , but he didn't issue a new key. Same damn thing in my opinion. The man wouldn't leave, he wound up stealing from me . I had a horrible last night there due to this. And when I did complain to staff or ask to speak to management about it , I received an email stating that I had too many complaints about the hotel and it's clearly not a good fit for me so they would appreciate if I searched elsewhere for any future stays I may have . Lastly , management stated they would no longer honor any requests I may have to stay in any foreseeable future. Soooooo I got banned for two complaints ?? That's the least of the issues I'm aware. But wow. How in the world was the man able to get custody of my hotel key??!!!! . I never checked in with in him or added him, or his info to my room. I don't even know if his name is real. He doesn't even have id for the lobby to clarify before issuing a stranger access to my location of safety. Unbelievable. So yeah, stay here if you don't mind stranger coming into your room middle of the night while your in a bath robe naked. This is the place to be if our looking to be violated and scorned mentally of any sense of safety and security to where you lay your head at night while here. Unbelievable. Best believe I've tried to reach anyone and I get no reply.... A shady hotel .and liars all staffed within. Covering up for one another with lies and idks. They retaliate upon those who dare...
