Writing in coffeeshops on my off days is my best act of self-care, and this spot ranks among the brightest I've been. I'm thinking of Kofee in Brooklyn, The Den in DC as two rare contenders across the board, and I mean 5 stars across the board, food, coffee, art, music played, barista amicability, coloring, clientele, and location.
You must have the egg sandwich. The forager and panini are excellent. I'm willing to bet that the rest of their sandwiches are equally soft, filling, flavorful, and just, indescribably, salubrious. Add bacon. You can add bacon to anything.
I'm usually a mocha drinker, and their iced mochas are great. Latte is solid. Cinnamon toast crunch latte fits the children and their mothers vibe, which is a common customer group, fitting the house decor up front, the very colorful wall art, unicorns on one wall, and an almost Warhol-like establishment of fake ice cream cones. All the chairs and sofas, even the tables, are in happy colors of salmon, cerulean, lavender, cornflower, and olive. When the sun's out, the light enters via the expansive front windows, which when matched by the light pink walls, creates a gauzy glow; there's a hill by, and some foliage right outside. A park with small courts where picklers play, and really, what more can you ask for when both parents and their kids, and professionals having a more serious conversation, come here.
They also provide water, their entire station with napkins and cups et al is right there, they call your name and always inform you that the sandwich takes 6-7 minutes. Did I mention they also have affogato? That already distinguishes Bright Spot, and having an affogato on an early Saturday morning is hard to do without taking public transportation or a car.
Their sandwiches also come with a variety of ingredients I ask the baristas about, and while I've been coming here for some time, at one point I'll have to ask for their names, as besides the 2 other places I mentioned above, this might just become a regular place for me. I am very lucky, after moving to Seattle, that I found this spot so close to where I live.
“And so I try to be kind to everything I see, and in everything I see, I see [coffee]." There is kindness in every corner in Bright Spot. Warmth, and...

The price was very fair, especially for Seattle. It's hard to find coffee for under $10 and pastries for five and below.
I got a honey cardamom latte and my companion purchased a cereal milk latte. They make their cereal milk in house and it's a really delicious latte with less sweetness. We also got a chocolate croissant and a squash bread. Both of them sliced bigger than my hand!
The latte art was cute. The foam was perfect and the spices didn't clump together.
The atmosphere was bright and happy tons of local art from local artists. You should ask the barista about the tie-dye shirts. He makes them himself. Local news and community resources avalaible at...
Read moreAdmittedly, I'm here about three times a week. Take that for what you will. I'm either biased or it's just that good.
Nine out of ten times I order a coffee anywhere it's a mocha, so I've become kind of picky about them. A lot of places get it either too bitter or too sweet. Theirs is right on target, at least for me.
Also, I've been a regular at other good coffee shops in the past, but at none of those were the staff this consistently genuinely friendly and happy to be there. If you're there more than like three times, they're already memorizing your name and know your order. It has a very neighborhood feel to it that I think a lot of Seattle coffee shops struggle with.
If I could ask for one thing, it might be some sugar free syrup options. Not something I typically go for, but I have a few friends that would love that.
Keep on...
