I can only describe my first time opening a box of Rainier Chicken Teriyaki as love at first sight. It was a cold, grey, Wintery evening in Seattle and my friends and I needed comfort food. We ordered over the phone, drove down, and brought our food into the chilly car. We opened the first box and were hit by a literal wave of warmth from the hot bed of thin, beautifully sliced teriyaki chicken. We each let out a squeal of un-suppress-able joy. I picked up that first piece of chicken like it was a priceless treasure and watched its caramelized corners and edges shine in the dim light of the Prius we sat in. The first bite was magic, the classic, sweet teriyaki sauce working in perfect tandem with the thin chicken as it slowly crumbled apart on my tongue. We devoured that plate of teriyaki like I’ve devoured few foods in my life. Since then, it has been a difficult decision to peel ourselves away from Rainier Teriyaki to go to any other establishment.
P.S. The General Tsao’s chicken is quite nice too.
P.P.S Never let your ego get in the way of ordering...
Read moreI had the pleasure of living a couple of minutes walk away from Rainier Teriyaki for many years and became a regular. The family was always very welcoming, accommodating, and the food always fresh and delicious. Since moving out of the area 3 years ago, finding a go-to teriyaki spot that rivaled them in my new and surrounding areas didn't work out, so I stopped eating restaurant teriyaki awhile ago.
The family suffered a very tragic, heartbreaking loss, and the community showed up and wrapped them in love. By deciding to reopen, the family's strength, courage, and love for the community are quite apparent.
The other day, I decided on a whim to drive into Seattle to pay RT a visit. They did NOT disappoint! I ordered takeout of old faves spicy chicken teriyaki, a chicken teriyaki bowl, fried rice as well as the recommended combo of chicken teriyaki and Katsu chicken. The food was just as delicious as my family remembered.

Read moreWe visited Seattle from Vancouver BC and finally made it to this teriyaki resto since it’s been on my list for a while. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and spicy korean chicken wings and they were both delicious. The chicken teriyaki had a generous portion and the chicken was smokey and juicy. The best teriyaki I’ve ever had. The spicy fried chicken wings hit the spot with slightly tangy, sweet and spicy flavour and I was so happy it wasn’t overly sweet as in most cases these days for spicy Korean chicken. Even though we have an overflow of Korean chicken shops in Vancouver we had to agree that their sauce was way better than any spicy korean chicken we tried in our city. Also, the people were extremely friendly and attentive and made sure we were happy with our foods. We had a great meal and will definitely come back on...
